  • What to Expect from Viro

  • Crossovers
    Viro himself at present is not a crossover character and doesn't leave his universe unless someone drags him, but considering his relationship to Krepta, there's a non-zero chance that multiverse shenanigans may occur, particularly if you seek out any story lines involving her.

    Sharp Edges
    Viro, for the most part, is a good man (these days-- if you play with him in his mob boss years, I can't help you), but he is not always, or even frequently, a nice man. Please expect and understand this coming in. I, the player, am not mad at you, insulting you, or thinking less of you, and it's important that you are able to separate character and player while engaging with Viro. He can be charming, but he can be an utter ass too. It's also important to recognize within yourself if an in character action is beginning to upset you the player. Let's communicate, figure things out, and regroup if we need to! I'll never treat you unkindly just because you communicate to me that a scene has become too uncomfortable for you, but you have to communicate it. I want you to have fun and be comfortable, but I'm not a mind reader.

    Keeping this in mind-- my own limits are: if you are intending to skew a character interaction to get Viro to beat up, yell at, or otherwise harm your character, please, please, please talk to me first. This is not why I typically play this character and it's grounds that need to be carefully discussed first. If I feel like you are trying to use Viro for whump material without my consent, I will drop you as a writing partner.

    Planned villainy and angst can be fun, but being used like that is like reaching your hand into a popcorn bucket and not getting popcorn. Don't be that person. Consent is important. The same goes for running around trying to get Viro to bite or sleep with your character. If you can't communicate in a fair and healthy manner, then these activities are off the table.
  • Historical Inaccuracies
    Being a vampire, Viro's been through every era since Prohibition. I do my best, but I'm not a practiced historian, so not every fact with him will be historically exact. Please don't come busting into my DMs trying to correct me. It's really rude and off putting, and I'll probably elect not to play with you or talk to you if you do. Mistakes happen. These are pretendy fun times. I also don't care about the price of bananas in 1972. Not even a little. If it really bugs you, you can chalk it up to a difference in the timelines. Viro's universe also has eldritch vampire gods and superheroes. Some inaccuracies are fine.

    How About Romance?
    Viro's... uh... not the commitment type. Don't expect anything more permanent with him than a one night stand, or maybe friends with benefits if he really likes someone. Is there a chance your character could convince him otherwise? Maybe?? But if they do, I will be seriously impressed. Don't hold your breath. That being said, these kinds of relationships can still be fun as long as you're not expecting more.

    Viro also doesn't necessarily want to sleep with everyone he flirts with. That's just kind of how he is. He likes making people blush and rattling cages.
