Rules

  • Rules
These should go without saying, but they must be said.
    •Be respectful
Even if you hate someone's guts, be civil to them. This rule comes first and foremost!

    DO NOT ERP with MINORS
    •Do NOT DO IT
Adults, if you are found ERPing {Erotic roleplaying) with a minor under the age of 18 IRL you will be reported. If you are a minor and you're found soliciting ERP with adults you will be reported as well. All legal and proper action will be taken. We are not responsible for your actions. Minors if you chose to act as an adult you will be punished like one. Be prepared to accept the consequences. This is not a game and peoples lives are ruined by this action. And to add to this no ERP with characters under the IC age of 16. This means physical in appearance as well. No Infant Vampire Babies having sex for you. Weirdo.

    •Consent!!
Due to the nature of this dream, we do follow strict RP guidelines. This does not extend to death or adult RP, which players will always have a say in. However, anything can happen to your character for any reason, and if it makes you uncomfortable, we ask that you remove yourself from the RP in a polite manner.

    •No Metagaming
Metagaming is when you take information from out of character sources and bring it IC. Your character cannot know something without having roleplayed it out, unless discussed in private between everyone involved and agreed upon. (This should only happen when not everyone can get together to RP it out at the same time, or when those involved are too short on time to RP it out.)

    •No Twinking/Godmodding
This is trying to control another player's actions. I.E. "Link cut down the keese." It's up to the player playing the keese whether or not the attack lands-- so the above post should say, "Link cut at the keese," so the keese has a chance to avoid it. The only time this doesn't apply is in a plot with a DM, with dice-- if the dice roll is below a certain standard, the DM can say whether or not an attack by an NPC character lands. The player may or may not decide where the attack lands, depending on rules planned out by the players beforehand.

    •No OOC to IC
OOC drama and IC drama should stay separate. Even if you dislike someone OOC, your character must regard them as they would if you felt completely neutral about the OOC player-- as the character would. This goes vice versa, as well. Don't take out a character hating yours as the player hating you, some people just play unpleasant characters.

    •OOC/Idle/AFK
When in public areas of the dream, please try to remain IC. OOC chat must be kept in brackets or whispers, or moved to the OOC area. We also have a chat feature for it! If you are found idle in a public area, a staff member may move you OOC. This rule isn't enforced as strictly when the dream is less busy, but important during peak hours to keep RP moving.

    •Private RP in public areas.
If your RP takes place anywhere but a private area, then it is free to join for anyone. You may not tell people that they can't join your RP if you're in a public space, like the tavern.

•Three hit rule is in effect!
To avoid unfair combat, when not using dice, only two dodges are allowed in a row in combat RP. The third strike must hit, though you may decide where and how.

    •Prepping and Magic
Preps are not needed for non-combat/healing/mind-control/necromancy spells. This entails things like repairing your clothing with magic, illusion magic, changing water to wine, etc. Anything else requires preps. Small spells take 1-3 preps, while bigger spells (such as death spells) can take 10+ preps. If you get struck during battle, you lose half a prep. Death spells cannot be used without consent of the player involved. Preps cannot be stored.

    •Alting.

Alting is fine! However, except in special circumstances (i.e. Alts are siblings, or married.) alts cannot share information, or be both involved in major plots. (This also has its exceptions. For instance, if you have a character in the Mage's guild and another in the Wolves, and the mage's guild is blown up or otherwise attacked, it would make sense for both characters to become involved.)

•Characters must be of your own creation.

We do not accept fan-made characters or characters that are canon to a game/show/book etc. Characters must be of your own creation. Face claims are accepted such as images found on the internet or google but the character must be completely different.

    •Be realistic.

Make your character real. Your character will have flaws. They will not be good at everything and they will not know everything. You cannot expect a 10 year old to know the meaning of life and have seen it all. Likewise, 40 year olds won't be wrinkle free and have no physical drawbacks. Think it through, folks.

    •Advancements.

Any technological advancement must be approved by staff. As this is a fantasy dream, with magic to help further along advancement, there is room for small-scale achievements in technological advancements further than was possible for the era in reality. However, if it can't be worked into the continuity, we might have to deny the advancement..

Real Dice I don't trust the RNG of Furc, I want to use real dice. Thats all fine and good but for everyone else its a tad unfair as we don't have proof and we have to trust you. Trust is in short supply. If you are going to use dice please use the Furc dice. Keeps us honest.

    Prison Break!!
Playing baddies is highly encouraged in Yveridia. However, this means your character runs the risk of ending up in the can! Oh no! Thankfully, we have a few set of simple rules if you want to break your character out!

    •Magic is allowed, however!
There are simple wards in place to prevent only the most obvious of break out spells. So you'll have to get crafty!

•Locks are highly advanced, and may pose a challenge to even the most expert lockpicker!
No matter who you are, it will take at least two posts to break out the old fashioned way.

•A Wolf must be present for your break out.
If you are breaking out alone, you must RP it with a Wolf. If you have a second player helping yours escape, however, you may request a "shift change," and ask for up to 3 turns before the wolf enters the scene-- if done right, you can make a clean break! If no Wolves are online, you can ask an admin to NPC a wolf character for you-- you may even ask for an NPC Wolf character if Wolves are online, if you would like to RP the killing of a Wolf without killing off anyone's main!
