Sharon was in a bad mood. Her day had not started well with the news that her aunt, Margaret Carter affectionately known as 'Peggy' had just passed away. She did not cry or mourn, no, instead she held her head up high and booked a meeting with Captain America as soon as possible; which, luckily for her, was that day. Peggy played a major part in shaping Sharon's career. Sharon had been motivated at the start by the ex-freedom fighter to fight for the greater good and that's how she ended up at S.H.I.E.L.D. Carter booked the meeting with Captain A just before lunchtime and slotted it into his schedule, hoping he wouldn't ask too many questions.
Sitting at her desk, she went through Steve Roger's file. She knew she probably shouldn't have and quickly closed the file as Fury strolled into her office. He took a seat opposite the blonde and looked very solemn.
"Peggy was a good agent," he finally said. Sharon immediately went stiff and replied, "You didn't even know her."
"Yeah but I've heard stories about her role in the war. Very strong headed like you, Miss Carter", he replied showing no emotion. She nodded not actually looking up at him but busying herself by shuffling papers.
"Those papers are organised enough. Have you told Captain America?"
"I plan to; that is, after you leave," she said bluntly and followed that off by a quick, "Uh...unless you need to talk to me about anything else, do you mind leaving?"
Fury was already at the door, "I can see when I'm not needed," he simple smirked and walked out. Sharon sighed heavily and slumped in her chair. The last thing she wanted was everyone give her sympathy...she seriously didn't want that crap at the moment.
