Jay is a rather tall, well built man thanks to his tough training from his militant father. He can generally be seen in a tank top, a pair of blue jeans or black cargo pants along with a hat and a jacket. His outfits are generally sports or music related; he can often be seen in gear with the sports of Kansas City, Metallica, Slayer, or AC/DC gear. He often wears a pair of glasses over the ocean blue eyes. His hair is short, often brushed back and covered with his usual Chiefs hat. If it wasn't obvious, his outfits often reference the real world. He has a twin brother named Ray who is capable of transforming into a battleaxe.
The young weapon meister is a rather kindhearted, happy go lucky individual with a rather crude sense of humor. He has a bit of a foul mouth, and this foul mouth only gets worse when he's been angered; luckily it takes a lot to truly anger him. He has a habit of referring to the sports of Kansas City, various video games, and musical groups. Jay can be quite the flirt when he wants to be. He is head over heels with Maka Albarn and also has a rather deep infatuation with Tsubaki. His twin, Ray shares a similar appearance and personality.
Jay and Ray were born in an unnamed city to a regular human and a weapon. Strangely enough, only one twin got the ability to transform into a weapon, Ray was the one that got the ability to change into a large, golden battleaxe. Jay was the one destined to be a meister. The twins were trained by their parents who were well respected warriors themselves. Their mother had the ability to transform into a golden battleaxe while their father was the meister. Thanks to their parents' tough training, they became masters of their respective abilities, soon enrolling in the Death Weapon Meister Academy where they befriended various other meisters, Jay developed strong crushes on Maka and Tsubaki, while Ray seems to be infatuated with the Thompson sisters.
