Rules

  • ALL RPR RULES APPLY,

    AND...

(SOME RULES ARE BOLDED FOR EMPHASIS, BUT ALL THE RULES ARE IMPORTANT. IF YOU BREAK A RULE, DEPENDING ON THE SEVERITY THERE MAY BE CONSEQUENCES.)

NOTE: I'm trying to be a good, friendly GM/Moderator! If you feel you were banned or otherwise punished for an unfair reason, feel free to PM me and ask what happened! Also, I will never ban or give consequences to someone without warning. If you are banned without warning, PLEASE PM ME RIGHT AWAY and I'll get things cleared up.

    CHARACTER RULES

Keep in mind your character must be humanoid or have a humanoid form.
Don't make your character OP without clearing it up with me, please. You need to have a good reason for an OP character.
Your character must have either magic, abilities, robotic enhancements, experimentation, mutation, be a supernatural being, a magical being, have superhuman abilities, or odd, inhuman qualities. Characters who are on the border of this (IE, want to learn magic, have to keep their powers a secret, superheroes, non-Cute Witch style magical girls) will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Please clear it up with me before submitting one of these or you could be rejected :(
Students must be ages 11-18. Teachers must be 21 and up. If you clear it up with me I may make an exception. If your character has no age, you are exempt.
If you sign up and put "idk" or "i read the rules" under the code slot in the application, you'll be automatically rejected. You can feel free to apply again, just not with the exact same application.
Please put either schedule A, B, C or D down in your application instead of random subjects. It's also harder to get you signed up if you copy-paste the schedule into the box, so please avoid this too if you can. It's okay though and you will not be punished for copy-pasting :)

    IC RULES

No godmoding, autohitting, any of that.
If a fight breaks out, it's a free-for-all and anyone may get involved.
    Everything has consequences.
Keep adult language to a minimum.
    IC IS NOT OOC!
Have good grammar, please. I see poor spelling and grammar waaay too often. I just don't want this RP to turn into one of those school RPs that are riddled with awful grammar.
    The code is rectangular cucumber.
I don't really care about post length, but aim for maybe 2 or more sentences to give people something to work with.
Try posting 2 times per day or more, and let people know OOC if you'll be gone for a bit.
NOTHING SEXUAL. Hugs, LIGHT kissing, and holding hands are fine if your character is high school aged. Don't do this for middle school aged characters. NO 18+ SITUATIONS, PERIOD. THIS MUST BE FOLLOWED OR YOU WILL BE BANNED IMMEDIATELY AND YOU WILL BE REPORTED TO A SITE MODERATOR. I don't mean to sound bossy by putting that in all caps, but I really mean it!

    OOC RULES
    Be respectful.
If a character is rude, that doesn't mean the player is.
Once again try keeping adult language/hate to a minimum.
Don't argue about politics, religion, etc.
If your application is rejected, feel free to resubmit! Also, feel free to ask why you were rejected! Do note that rejected applications that are re-sent with no changes at all will be rejected again. Fix whatever might be against the rules or incorrect, then re-send.

    SCHOOL RULES

Students must be in class within 3 minutes of it starting or they will be late.
No using magic and abilities to seriously hurt/humiliate someone.
If you seriously injure anyone, there will be consequences. This includes during combat class!
Food fights at lunch are unacceptable.
After school clubs may not leave school property during club time.
Attention: All ghosts are prohibited from scaring students in the library.
Any students caught brewing potions in the bathroom sinks will be given detention and cleaning duty. ...Just don't do it.
Bullying is not permitted. (Sometimes people ignore this rule.)
Students must remain on campus during school unless given permission to leave.
No leaving class without either a hall pass (Lets you walk inside the building you are in), campus pass (Lets you go to other buildings), or a medical emergency.
Try to keep the dorms clean.
If you have pets, try to make sure they're quiet. Include what pet you have on your application and you'll be placed with someone who isn't allergic. Acceptable pets include cats, quiet dogs, turtles, fish, and quiet, non-destructive magical creatures.

MORE RULES TO BE ADDED PROBABLY I DON'T KNOW
  • Dictionary Of Terms

These are some terms/slang words used by Oakwater students. More will be added as the RP progresses.

    Imperf
Offensive term used to describe someone with one ordinary human parent and one unusual, magical, supernatural, etc. parent. Other words used include imperfection (more technical term), or halfie (Can be used in an endearing way or offensive way depending on context). Similar to saying "mudblood" in the Harry Potter universe.

    Example: "Outta my way, IMPERF!"

    Flash Magic
Magic or powers seen as overly flashy and with little to no actual function.

Example: "I personally think Sailor Moon's transformation sequences are just flash magic."

    Scorch
Street name for Ash Vine, a plant said to increase ability strength but is VERY addictive, can harm brain development, ends up damaging abilities in the long run, and can cause severe headaches, mild memory loss, and dizziness. Sadly this drug is unknown to the non-magical side of society, and thus many students who come to Oakwater and grow up in that side don't learn about the dangers of this drug. For the past 3 years, on the first day of school, there have been all-school assemblies to tell the students about Scorch and why they shouldn't mess with it. This is due to an outbreak 4 years ago where somebody grew the drug in their dorm and sold it to students. One student died from the drug. The student was arrested by the Odd Council.

Example: "What?! You really think I'm gonna go off and take scorch with you?! I don't wanna die like that Lily chick from 4 years back!!"

    MagiNet
Like the internet, but only accessible to computers enchanted to do so. All the school-owned computers at Oakwater are enchanted to connect to the MagiNet.

    Archive
A huge database on the MagiNet. You can find info on spells, abilities, schools, and more. It's a bit like Wikipedia. Some pages on the Archive allow you to sign in to view information.

    MagiNet Messenger
A popular messaging site on the MagiNet. Unlike the Archive and most other sites, you simply need an internet connection enchanted to allow access (Oakwater's connection is enchanted). Almost all other sites on the MagiNet require your computer/phone to be enchanted. Also called the M-Net Messenger or MagiMessage.

    Odd Council
A bit like the Ministry of Magic from the Harry Potter universe. They keep the MagiNet, magical/Oddity schools, and magic use in check. They do have tabs and records on how many people can use magic, but the records can be inaccurate at times and they don't cover superpowers, magical girls, etc.

    Oddity
Refers to one's magic, abilities, etc... A bit like saying Peculiarity in the Ms. Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children universe.
