Bigger than the average adventure, a chapter in Undertow is how we introduce large pieces of our continuity. Monumental history starts here.
///The rumor, since the beginning when the place was just a spot to stretch legs and do a quick quiet trade, is that the history of Huetia's settlement is something darker than the shadows of the jungles framing the little town. Amongst the buildings and rubble are ghosts of a crew long since passed, fading markers of a battle between navy and pirate. Freedom is key, and this crew found the jailer's ring.
Scattered gossip you'll pick up when you spend any time in the Undertow is that the sudden influx of treasure maps are done while drunks are under the ghost crew's possession, feverish muttering of a Captain's bounty. But just who is this Captain? The one who won the revolution, if rumor is to be believed. Against what? For what reason? And did they survive?

A Dark Spot
An invasion floundered, yet still sinister...
An invasion floundered, yet still sinister...
For over the past year, nearly two, Huetia and the cove sanctuary that hosts Undertow have been under siege, the last port pirates stop to as they invade a nearby city-state, looking for wealth and finding the gilded promise hollow of it's treasures. Months of an influx of their influence over the small dockside town has brought waves of change, and the bubble has burst.
There is now a Dark Spot in the sailor's guild. Turn your head just right, and you'll see a new black market has emerged, tucked away and kept hush. Mostly. You can't keep the tricks and trades of easy riches a secret for long, not among pirates.
The auction house is now open, where anything, anyone, can be bartered off for a night or a lifetime.
No longer bound to owe tithe to The Golden Tether, a once empty building at the port is now host to the trade *auction directly.
