This area plays host to any templates you may need for your character's homes, businesses, or research files. What is a Mission Log? Mission logs, or mission reports, are written after every AotM mission, and must be completed for your character or group to complete their mission successfully. They are written in character. They have an info page of their own that can be found here, and require an approval process to be accepted. What is a Research File? A Research File can be similar to a Mission Log in that you might have your character writing down what they observe about a location, peoples, or species. But unlike Mission Logs, this isn't required, and Research Files can be written OOCly too in order to share information about things like an adoptable species up for play. Research Files are also usually taken up independently rather than being a requirement for something like finishing a mission. They also will require staff approval as an end process, or for changes to existing Research Files. You can find templates for Research Files on the page that you are currently on, or you may make your own as long as it covers the requirements. Please submit your research files directly to this area, and they will be moved for you after approval. When you're ready for review, go ahead and submit your Research File to #requests-and-reviews! Don't forget you can collect some activity points for Research Files too! What is a Home/Business Page? A home or a business page describes your character's personal home or place of business, and may contain things like a description of their home, menus, or item prices. Home and Business pages do not require staff approval unless something in their design would majorly interfere with the world around them, or if they would wind up a major landmark worthy of note. You may submit these pages directly into either Personal/Homes, Public/Businesses, or Groups & Organizations. There are templates on this page you can use, but feel free to make your own as well! ![]() Step One Start with a title! Your Research File should begin with 'Research File' at the start of the name, so we know what it is. A descriptive title should follow after. It can be as simple as, 'Studying Sandwiches', or as fancy as, 'The Effects of Sandwich Goblins at Jimmy Johns'. It's up to you! Step Two Fill out a Research File template, which can be found under the dropdowns on the right side of this page, or create your own! Either is acceptable as long as it has enough information. Take a peek at the templates or completed files to see what we're looking for. ▴ If you choose to make your own design, it still needs to be neat and well detailed. Sloppy files with nothing but text walls will be asked to revamp. Put a little effort in! ▴ Please also avoid copy pasting wikipedia information, or the equivalent. Consider writing in your character's 'voice' instead of OOCly if the information seems too close to the source. ▴ The file must also be a topic not already covered by someone else's research file. Take a look through the files here to ensure that yours in the first. If its not, you can contact the original author (or staff if they've moved on) an ask if you can add to their topic. ▴ Add on files must be posted below the original and add something of substance to the existing information. Step Three Ready? Submit your Research File in the #requests-and-reviews channel! Staff will look over it shortly, and if approved, you will receive a stamp of approval from the AotM's 'Research Division'. ⚠ Important Note ⚠ Please note that even if you don't write your entry in a character's voice, you'll still need to pick a character to submit the post under, as this area is an IC area and posting as an OOC account hides your post in an OOC tab. Posting under a character account just keeps things neater and easier for reading as a result. ![]() Before you submit personal headworld information to share with the greater AotM ecosystem, understand that by nature, collaborative creation involves giving up some control. Sometimes there will be misunderstandings, or things done not 100% the way you envisioned them. We will always look out for our creatives here, but if your first instinct is to assume malice over ignorance and act reflexively when miscommunications happen, then it may be wisest to keep your personal creations for solo projects. Adding an 'Ask First' status to your creations is a good middle ground. It means that those interested must work directly with you during the creation process if they wish to play in or as a character from one of your worlds. 'Closed/Creator Missions Only' mean that you are not looking for anyone to add to your creation, and that play in your world is always controlled directly by you as a DM. You may also receive clarifying questions about your creations, or questions born from simple curiosity. Please field them kindly.
