Oh man I do be really enjoyin fallen asses and Gianni being EVERYWHERE (no like seriously he's in fucking WARFRAME NOW) haha civvie when's pro plutonia.
Technically not a boom shoot but the table that Dave Oshry was ranting about on Twitter for Gloomwood was referenced in Abiotic Factor lol
"Who did you expect at the end of all this? God? The Devil, perhaps? No… it's just… me"
I think we don't need to be strict about this being about boom shooters, I just didn't want to clog up the ooc thread with fanboying about old and new games.
A lot of boomer-shooter fandom comes from me just not being able to play a lot on my linux-laptop (I can play on my PC, but that is less convenient and usually reserved for newer games) and being unwilling to install a wine or steam/proton or something similar, and quake and doom are just convenient with a thousand source ports, so I often play doom, modded to hell and back, if I need to pass some time.
But yeah, there are some real gems. Dusk made me fall in love with videogames again after some time, and I loved Blood. There is a reason it is one of the many references in Vince's profile somewhere
For me, it was the best of the Build-Engine trinity.
Ashes 2063 and Ashes Afterglow heavily influenced Reynard, my other public character, in style and background. Hm… otherwise, Thatcher's Techbase was a fun Doom Mod.
So in conclusion… I would suggest we add a sewer level to Laurel Hill!

NO, NO SEWER COUNTS.
Nah I just made it about boom shoots because we were talking about those games but I mentioned Abiotic and Gloomwood. So it's a suggestion more so, ha. I just didn't have anything else to babble about in the initial message.
I need to beat DUSK but I got scared in one of the levels lol. I have DUSK and AMID EVIL on GOG and not Steam and I have a Steam Deck, I understand lol.

I've recently replayed Fallout 2 after watching some youtube videos about it, and I really liked it. It had a lot of story hooks and cities crammed into it, and there was just a lot you could do, even if it wasn't necessarily part of the main story: get a car to drive around, become a price fighter, let yourself be seduced by the mob bosses daughter and then be gang pressed into his service for it, help tribes grow together and of course save the world at the end.
The story and aesthetics didn't feel as set in stones as the later games. It was a super interesting experience.
DUSK level get crazier and crazier as the game goes on, with the second act being a pathway into the weirdness of the third. There is a linux version on GoG, maybe it runs on the steam deck - I've never owned a Steam Deck, I can't say if it would work!

Did someone play "I am your beast" yet? It looks like it could be something I enjoy, but right now I wait for it to be on sale, because, well, lack of money.

#relatable
OH, this is my thread. These are my people, lol. Howdy, y'all. I thought I was the only boom-shoot enjoyer here. Nice to see I'm in great company, lol
I'll sneak in a CV-11 reference in somewhere. Keep your eyes peeled kids.
…I fear this will end with us having to fight off Gregs in the sewer in some very janky fashion
Or a strange blonde guy with wacky headgear selling meth openly. Or a Technomage named Carmack.
YOU KNOW WHAT MONTH IT IS, KIDS? THAT'S RIGHT IT'S SPOOKY MONTH
Official CV-11 shill: He talks about Condemned lol. Fun video.
