Name: Dahlia Cleo Kane

Species: Closed species, semi-anthro, will have cat-like animal ears, nose and eyes in most RP's, whether or not she has a tail or more pronounced animalistic features depends on RP and partners comfort.
Sex/Gender: Female, mostly cisgender but doesn't really conform to what people want/expect of her.
Sexuality: Bisexual.
Age: 26 years old.
Relationship: Single, previously engaged.
Career: Pre-K Teacher, and Firewatcher during the summer.
Personality: Polite, intelligent, brave, seems very cheery and bubbly but she didn't always used to be that way, and she has more baggage than people know - hopeless romantic but a little bitter now. Easily jealous. Has more of a temper than she lets show.
Abilities: Has some psychic tendencies where she often has dreams of the future or senses someones emotions.

Complexion:Light yellow toned skin and fur, skin gets darker in the summer.

My Passion is To Explore
Dahlia was born 26 years ago on a warm summers evening. Her upbringing was fairly...average when it comes to upbringing. She had some trouble with her parents not quite understanding the way she wanted to live her life and being less than supportive about her bisexuality, but for the most part she didn't have to want for very much. Dah did very well in school, she was actually in most AP classes in High School and by the time she went to college straight out of High School deciding to take online courses, she already had a good handful of college credits.
Dahlia took college almost strictly online only having to go on campus once a week for a few hours. Finishing four years of university in two years as she didn't take summers off. A hard-worker to say the least. In fact a lot of her friends seemed to disappear over those two years because she isolated herself quite a bit and didn't visit or hang out with them very often.
When she finally graduated, though she had accomplished something really great, doing four years work in two, Dahlia found herself with little to no friends, and battling with a lot of depression and anxiety from isolating herself and not coping with the stress from her studies very well. The only person who was still around for her was her mother though they only spoke on the phone once a week - was her boyfriend. Max.
Dahlia started dating Max at 19 and he somehow stuck it out until she graduated at 20, despite them not spending that much time together. A lot of their time spend just sitting in the time room while she worked, or sleeping in the same bed, not much else. Very few dates.
Given Max was Dahlia's first real relationship once she was able to focus more on the relationship she found herself struggling with getting used to dating. Going on dates, being there for Max, not being hyper focused on work. Along side her depression and anxiety.
So, to fix this... she got a job.
Dahlia began to hyper focus on her job as a pre-k teacher, teaching specific kindergarten to third grade. English and Art usually. When she was almost 21, Max proposed to her, and she said yes because he began doubting how much she cared for him. However just five months later when Dahlia was having trouble even planning the wedding, and was no less obsorbed in her work Max accused her of not loving him, and frankly... she wasn't sure she did.
He left her - then she was positive she did love him. It hurt too much for her not to have.
Dahlia sunk into depression and anxiety, solely focused on her work and in the summer found herself not having much to do but think about Max and how he was with someone new, jealous even though she felt she had no right to be.
Struggling with her mental health, Dahlia finally started going to therapy, slow and steady - and that following summer when she turned 23, she saw an opening for a job in firewatching in the nearby state park with it's massive acres of land that tended to catch fire in the summer.
She packed a few bags and went out to spend the final 7 weeks of the summer in a firewatch house above the ground, alternating between night and day watch, making sure nothing was ablaze and checking out anything suspicious. Finding that she really enjoyed exploring the forest, and talking to the other firewatchers via radio and meeting up with them for lunch or dinner some days. Reading books, writing, and doing lesson plans.
It was healing for her that first summer, as she made friends with the other fire watchers. When she went back to therapy for the first time after the summer even her therapist told her she could see the change, and Dahlia slowly started working on finding a balance between work, fun, and relaxation.
She now spends July and August of every summer as a firewatcher.
