Sethos Stormnight

Had a good holiday time. I helped people commune with their loved ones, and it went even better than I imagined- the island has its own particular holiday around this time of year, where the dead walk the earth, so fortunately it wasn't -just- my doing this time, no one freaked out, and I couldn't be blamed for stirring the pot.

A lot of people showed up on my place last week for it, plus Echo, the kitsune (turns out they play a mean guitar), Kyanos (the guy who helped out at the morgue the other week), Ecks (turns out he doesn't like dogs), and Ziv (we still need to get his magic uncorked and original form back... maybe this week). I helped Ziv talk to his passed family; his grandparents are really nice. They filled him in on some much-needed stuff, and we ate, and we talked.

Ran into Tobias while gathering spell ingredients. I helped him in his combat training- he's really fast and really strong, and very insightful. I told him a bit of how my magic works (he seemed interested in my 'healing' magic), and he noted right away that I was trying to use my innate necromancy magic for good.

I also explained about the upcoming holidays (I'm excited)!

I got an assignment by a family that wanted to know if their son was killed in foul play. I went to the morgue, and by happenstance, a bat-hound named Bastien, and Kyanos got roped into it, too. They handled it very well, as we were around a lot of dead bodies, and had to ask our particular corpse a question. Turns out he was killed because he napped under a coconut tree, and a few fell on his head while he was asleep... I delivered his message to his family, though; he loves them, and Grandma and Patches say hi.

Nox had his Halloween party last night; it was nice to celebrate this year. He and I have been decorating our places (seems the other people on Olmeid don't celebrate as much), and I supplied him with some spider silk from the spirit realm that one of my 'neighbors' had dropped off the other day.

At the party, we bobbed for mangoes, and some people tried the hexed candy I'd set out. Then there was cake. Ferdinand and Kyanos showed up, too. The other people that showed up were a construct (second one I've seen here!), and Tr'xi, the bug-lady. Never get on her bad side... she skewered a mango like it was nothing. She also helped Mayon from accidentally almost-drowning in the mango basin.

We didn't get to have a seance that night, which was actually fine, because the seance Nox wants to perform is a little too heavy for a party. He's been through a lot.

(Date is approximate). I've been working on that Calming spell for Nox, and he came over the other day (Keon, the homunculous was there too- he's been living with me). It seemed to work, but it'll take more practice before I get it down pat.

I was in the city the other day, and ran into a construct named Clink; he was created by a wizard to learn about this world. He had some neat gadgets, like a big solar sail thing that makes energy from the sun. He used it to block the rain, so I could get back to my house not soaking wet. He seemed very nice.

I met Ferdinand, too, a large dark polar bear- seems he's very lonely here. We talked around a campfire while we ate fish he'd caught (he was also a little high). He asked about dating, and I gave all the advice I could, seeing as how I'm not really the most knowledgeable person with that sort of thing.
