Translators
Translators are an important part of the technology involved, given that it is what allows the different races to speak freely. It is a tiny nickle-sized silver object that is placed on the temple, which attaches itself to the skin painlessly and observes brain waves to analyze what words the speaker is trying to say. It communicates through different frequencies, and to change the frequency, one must gently press their finger on the translator until they hear the number of the frequency they wish to reside in. (Note: the frequency numbers do not actually reflect any sort of unit, it's simply an order to have them in.) It sends the words others say directly into their head, telling them exactly what the other said in their own language. Those proficient in using these devices (which the ship members should be) don't even need to speak to use the translator, so long as they know how to send the thought through while filtering others. It is not a thought processor, so it won't send every thought that comes across, only those that are meant to be said.
Weaponry
The weaponry involved is necessary due to the complete unknown of what could be out there in the other solar systems. Hence, there are three different kind of weapons each crew member must have on them at all times.
Weapon set to stun: It's much like a taser, except that it more shoots electric pellets that envelop the victim and stun them until unconsciousness. The pellets are connected by magnetism and can be retrieved to be reused. Each stungun has 10 shots per gun.
Weapon set to kill: These weapons are more different and can change based on what each crew member prefers. However, generally each are lethal, and are all ranged weapons similar to guns.
Melee weapon: These can also change based on which crew member has it, but generally there are hunting knives for each crew member to use and utilize in case of emergencies. -
The Ship
The ship itself is the size of a large house, having several rooms for different uses. It's spread apart by being thin at the top, and then protruding at the sides like an upside down triangle. The ship itself is two stories high, but always flies level, with simulated gravity on the inside keeping everything stable.
The entrance of the ship is at the front of the thin side, given that three different legs coming from the inside of the ship exit to hold the ship steady on ground. The bottom of the thin side opens and extends, creating a ramp to enter.
The front room, which is the flying room, is open for both of the floors. When the ship is closed, or rather when the entrance is closed and the floor does not extend open, it functions as a meeting room, with a button option to create chairs and a table connected to the floor to meet at. There are stairs up to the second floor, where the pilot's area resides, right at the center of the front window. On the first floor, there are three doors to three different rooms.
The first room to the right is the medical healing room, generally used by the doctor to conduct surgeries or even just checkups in a sterile environment. The database for the doctor is also located there.
The second room in the middle is the room where the botanist's bag sends all objects to for later analysis, with a large table in the middle and different tools and chemicals to experiment with.
The third room on the opposite end is the storage area, where the different necessities and otherwise are stored, including extra translators, air containers, extra weapons and technology, canned food, etc. At the back of this room, however, is a second room, which is the janitor's room, where the janitor sleeps on a cot and has all the cleaning supplies nearby.
Upstairs, there are three rooms as well. The first room on the right is a living space, completely with a booth connected to a table that nearly goes all the way around, made to fit around 8 different people. Behind that is a kitchen, the door closed and sealed shut tightly to prevent fires from spreading.
The second room in the middle is the captain's room, basically a large room and living space complete with a lounging chair, a desk and chair, and a customize-able environment, unlike most of the ship. There is a large bed for the captain to reside in as well. The only people that can enter the captain's room are the janitor and the captain themselves.
The third room is a living space for the rest of the crew, each in the same room but with buttons that can produce sound proof barriers in the case of a snoring crew member. Connected to that room is also a bathroom and shower area. There is also a single stall bathroom downstairs, connected to the main room.
Each door is opened with a handprint scan on a scanner next to each door, and rooms are airtight and soundproof. Although the program can be edited to allow other hands to enter through the building, it is originally only for the crew to use. There is also a card for each crew member in the situation where their race doesn't have distinct hand prints or ends up unable to use the same hand to scan for one reason or another.
The ship itself is named A-XPLOR-13, or just "explore" to be put simply. The crew members, beforehand, will have seen a blueprint and therefore would know where everything is located.
