Useful Information

  • Festivals and Holidays
    • Jujinka's Day - On February 14th, Kasuria celebrates the Prime of Love, often by spending time with their partners and offering gifts such as confectionary, flowers and jewellery. Legend says that on this day, the tiny Jujkina drops magical pollen dust on the heads of the enarmoured to ensure a day of love and passion.
    • All Fool's Day - Certainly a favourite day for the light-hearted and mischievous. Held on the 1st of April, pranksters disguise themselves in costumes and masks to indulge in play with unsuspecting furres.
    • May Day - A day of celebration on the 1st May to the seeds previously planted and praise to the Primes for a successful crop season. Viverravus, the Prime of Weather is a favoured prime of celebration on this day. Activities include, dances, plays, feasts, games and more.
    • Harvest Festival - Held on the first week of October, the Harvest Festival is a week of celebration for a successful harvest, and praise to the Primes (particularly Ahroth, Prime of Earth.) Feasts are made with the harvest grain, along with joyous frolics of dancing and games.
    • All Hallows Eve - For some, a day to celebrate those who have long passed, for others a time of worry and concern as fires are lit to ward off evil spirits and Vinca signals painted on all entrances as protection. It is said that the spirits of the dead rise to tread the Urrth once more. A popular item on this holiday is a hollowed turnip or pumpkin, which is lit inside with a candle. These are placed in doorways to frighten off any unwanted spirits. More often than not, furres ensure they are safely indoors before the midnight hours.
    • Yuletide - An eight day period of celebration beginning with Yule Day, then ending with the start of the New Year. It is a time of celebration with family and friends, praising Thelcoda (Lady of Calendars) for the oncoming year. Love and praise is shared with each other, as well as to the Prime of Sphere and Time herself. It is said Thelcoda watches over the last day of the year, to ensure the new day is brought in peacefully.

Are guns allowed? If not, what is?
The earliest guns were the Flintlocks, which were came around in the early 1600's. Leaky Mug is set in 1163, so we're quite a way off yet. Please don't use any type of gun in this dream, stick to weapons such as swords, daggers, axes and crossbows. (May it be noted that when fighting, the items must be 'prepped.' You cannot unsheath your sword, or set up your crossbow AND use them in attack in the same post. Once the sword is out it can be used in each post, but the crossbow will need a post to attach the next bolt before firing.)

For example, the posting would look like this (save for detail, and obvious concequences of other roleplayer's actions):

    Furre pulls out his sword.
    Furre attacks with sword.
Furre attacks with sword some more.

    Furre readies crossbow.
    Furre fires crossbow.
    Furre readies crossbow.
    Furre fires crossbow.

    What about magic?
Magic is allowed, but all magic abilities must be prepped, no matter how powerful you are. Your power increases how much you can do, not how fast. Also, you cannot do anything else whilst you are prepping. This also means if your concentration is distracted during your prepping, you must start again! Use the guide below when prepping your magical abilities (this includes, elemental, teleportation, telekinesis, etc.)
1 - 4 preps: weak affects (e.g. lighter sized flame.)
5 - 7 preps: medium affects (e.g. ball of fire.)
7 + preps: powerful affects (e.g. large, fierce inferno.)

    What's the IC religion?
    The Primes.

    What's this word?
These are not words that must be used, simply a list to help understand what someone might mean when they do use them.
    Paws - hands.
    Headfur - hair.
    Urrth - earth.

    Playing a Freeform Vampyre:
We follow Dragonland canon as guidelines. But because this dream does not play using dice, Vampyre skills and weakness are not effected with experience points. Every Vampyre must have at least one Lacuna. For every Lacuna you can have an Evilway. Click here to view them. This balances out the powers with negatives effects also. Please state these on your character sheets if you are a Vampyre to avoiding changing them at your wish. Staff have the right to question your Lacunas and Evilways if we suspect they are being changed to suit who you are roleplaying with.

    Playing a Freeform Werefurre:
We follow Dragonland canon as guidelines. Like with Vampyres, Werefurres are changed to suit our freeform roleplay. Lycans have three forms. Furre, a shape they MUST take at full moon, and a shape they can assume at will. Click here to view possible forms. You cannot have a third or fourth form like the die rules offer without speaking with the owners and having logical IC reasons for this. You may choose two advantages, such as Regenerate and Talisman of Control. This is to make it more realistic for freeform roleplay. Staff have the right to question your advantages if we suspect they are being changed to suit who you are roleplaying with.

I don't want my femme to have kits yet! What contraception is available?
Good contraception is quite simply not around in 1163! Potions and herbs are for sale. But come with a low success rate. Potions can be brewed using herbs such as Wild Carrot, Black Cohosh, Pennyroyal, Nutmeg and Mugwort. These can be taken before or after intercourse, but cannot be purchased at the General Store. Femmes may have to travel to Nye to find their contraception, or request one from an alchemist, for a fee. The only guarantee of no kits can be an early abortion from a skilled (and willing) mage, which can be difficult to find and very costly.

The success rate for the common herbal potions is not brilliant however, as expected, at approximately 60%. To fairly decide whether or not your femme may be soon carrying offspring, you may choose to dice roll. An example of this is a dice roll with ‘roll d10.’ Anything above a ‘6’ is a pregnancy - not including the 6 itself. (Resembling 60/100.)

This is not mandatory, however, but is a realistic approach on this potentially problematic situation.

You look like Winding River, you upload in the same spot as Winding River - are you thieves?!
No! Not at all. Rowen (Winding River's owner) kindly gave me (Nelsa) the map of WR when she was closing it down, and permitted me to use the map for rp, but under a new name. ICly, this is an entirely new location. Winding River ICly has shut down, whilst Leaky had just opened.
