Locations

  • Hollow Earth is located somewhere near the Earth’s core, thought not the Earth’s core as popular fiction would have you believe. It’s hard to tell how big Hollow Earth is exactly because it’s separated into 7 separate chambers, with NSC at the Heart.

    1. The Forests Seven
    2. The Boiling Sea
    3. The Black Den
    4. The Lake of Tears
    5. New Storm City
    6. Elethaire
    7. The Dragons Valley

Each is an elaborate landscape, closed off from the World Above, trapped underground impossibly deep but able to sustain life due to warm air ducts that channel heat from the earth’s core into Hollow Earth and its capital city NSC. Although there are communities outside of NSC, The main hub of life and cilivsation in Hollow Earth is NSC.

    The Vale
The Vale is the ‘kingdom’ of Queen Oonora Jade. Nobody knows for sure if Oonora moved in or built her castle in the sky. It glows hauntingly from above, changing colours with Oonora’s mood and glowing from a constant fire somewhere inside. The Vale is actually a Giant crystal stalactite hanging from the very centre of New Storm City ceiling. The Vale spirals downwards ending in a sharp point. Small arched windows have been carved out of the crystal. It’s hangs large in the distance a constant source of light, much like the sun and moon from the world above. No matter where you travel in NSC you can always see The Vale.

    Kendra

Kendra is known for its location directly under the Vale, it’s formed by Humans and Elves, with the odd spattering of Fae’s. It’s a central hub and as a result attracts all sorts. Known as a shopping district it houses shops of every description imaginable, closed away in an old alley is the Magic shop run by a Kendran Witch.

On each corner of Kendra, is the Moss Willow, ancient gnarled trees that the Elves tend, hard dark bark is covered in a thick layer of moss, the branches shoot upwards before falling downwards, much like a very tall thin weeping willow.

Resident live in small self contained apartments, stacked on top of each other. Kendra is comparable to Manhattan in the World Above.

Known for its large population of Wild Hollow Earth Bears, an ancient prehistoric Bear, with near human intelligence and the famed Wild Kendran Horse; a Beautiful Wild horse that roams hollow earth in small family groups.

    The Crooked Lane
Is actually more than a Lane, but an entire Borough, it’s actual name is Crookara’La an old Drow phrase roughly translated to ‘No Stars’. The Crooked Lane, is know a such for its long winding ‘maze-like’ corridors. Its home to ‘Vags’ (NSC slang meaning homeless) and the poverty stricken, oft en squatting wherever they can. Crookara’La used to be home to the Drow, until they were defeated by the Queens forces. Those Drow left, returned to The Crooked Lane to reestablish themselves, forgetting past prejudice towards other races.

    The Aerie

The Aerie is the ancestral home of the Hollow Earth Elves. At one point it was its own city but overtime during the centuries it was absorbed into New Storm City becoming a Borough. Badly damaged during the Drow Wars, much of its prestige was destroyed, and as a result the Borough is much smaller than what it used to be. Though that doesn’t distract from its overall beauty. The Aerie is one of the ‘greenest’ areas of all Hollow Earth, with its own local park’ made up from ancient trees that can survive without sunlight, incredibly tall and thin tree with shining white bark and sunset red leaves. The Borough is made up of tall Spires, twisting buildings that rise into the air. Property in the Aerie is expensive, so not everyone can afford it. Though it’s not solely Elves who live at The Eyrie. Any race is welcome providing they have enough coin.
