• Biography

  Lord Brendel Fayne of the Eyronwood is the lord of Castle Coratiel and the surrounding county, having recently inherited the holdings from his father, who passed at the hands of a dread plague. Brendel is a glib and frivolous sort of fellow, and the weight of his new position has yet to fully settle on his shoulders.
  
  
  Brendel is still a bachelor, and though he flirts with every lady at court, he has pursued none of their hands in marriage. His advisers don't let him forget that he really should have an heir at this point, but he brushes them off as if they were nothing more than biting gnats. Rumors abound as to why he's so opposed to marriage.
  
  Brendel has two younger sisters: Camilla and Amicitia. Their mother passed several years ago due to a winter chill. Though their parents' passing gives them great heartache, the siblings have little want for family--they have aunts, uncles, and cousins a-plenty.
  
  
  

• Description

  Brendel is a tall man with a long and angular face, standing half a hand above almost everyone else in Coratiel. Most of this height is in his lengthy legs, which gives him the appearance of a grinning heron. He has milk-white skin prone to burning, contrasted starkly by black hair and eyes. In good lighting the true color of his eyes can be seen--an intense and almost supernatural shade of cobalt blue. His nose is sharp and prominent and his hair is buttocks-length, though often tied up to keep it from getting tangled. More often than not he sports a tiny beard waxed into a point. Above it perches a near-omnipresent smile, ranging from a wan smirk up to wide and crooked grin that shows far too many teeth. Brendel wears only the best garments that tailors can offer, favoring slashed Tudor-style breeches or tight-fitting hosen, voluminous shirts with lace at wrist and throat, doublets, robes, and capelets. His fingers and wrists glitter with jewelry--all unequivocally silver with one exception: a simple chain necklace, its links fine and forged of cold iron, always worn against his clavicle, even when he sleeps and bathes.
