Death Kink
Don't fret. Death Kink isn't quite referring to the literal term. Rather it mostly refers to Death and the various sensual things of which Death may be intrigued and interested in.
However, I cannot say for a fact that Death does not entertain the interests of those who are attracted to them simply because they are the closest to Death they could ever possibly get.

Death may desire to be in total control. To be Worshipped as the powerful being that they are. To be begged from and mooned over. Given the complete submission of their subject. They prefer psychological and very vocal submission when it comes to dominating their partners. Restraints, ropes, paddles, and the bite of their teeth, palms of their hands and sting of their nails are likely to occur but not at the same intensity as they prefer when they are on the other side of things. While rules, vocal and sexual worship and ownership play a part here, Death finds in their own submission they crave release from their emotional and mental pain. They hold a lot of tension and pain from their hundreds and thousands of years watchings and feeling creatures die, falling in and out of love. Their preference for being rid of some of this pain, distracted from it, it often rope play/rigging, lashing, excessive fanged and pointed teeth biting, minor blood play, and general aggression, a lot of this boarding on dub-con, which they at times prefer.
Now, sex does not always come with these heavy BDSM themes when it comes to Death, and sex does not always happen when combined with the above. Simply put, sometimes they need it all, sometimes they just need sex whether fluff or rough, and sometimes they just need a couple hours of rigging to decompress.
After Care is always important on both sides. Simply put, Death is a good Dom, and expects the same treatment unless otherwise agreed upon - but generally... yeah you don't want to leave sub-drop Death all alone. Their emotions can cause natural disasters, remember? So, do so at your own risk.

Most think of death as a concept and not a person - and if they do personify Death, it is almost always a skeletal being in dark black robes with a scythe. That idea isn't entirely wrong - the depiction of a morose and frightening looking bag of bones with intimidatingly large farming equipment better represents Reapers. Who tend to believe they have a more intimate and viscerally painful experience with those dying and the dead than Death. ||Personality|| Death is often hard to put in a box, for obvious reasons. Having 'lived' so long they tend to cycle through many personality traits over the centuries. Depression can set in and their demeanor is cold, quiet, and very loner-esque. A stint of enjoyment can kick in and make them one of the most lively people you know. However, Death is commonly a bit disconnected from individual illness and death unless something about it strikes them particularly in the feels. Mass death however, can cripple Death.
Death can range from quiet and stony with people they care little for and a melting puddle of affection with those they do. They are stubborn, prone to day dream, difficult to fluster - unless you're a specific few... (looking at you Abel), heavy handed with their emotions, impatient when it comes to most drama. Will not deal. No thanks. While they cannot stop anyone's death, this does not stop them from feeling protective over those that manage to get close to them.

Changing forms.
As seen above, Death has the ability to change into many forms, humanoid and otherwise.
However, Death can not be in a humanoid form in more than one place at once. So most often they are in form of a eerie moth before and during someone's death.
It is not required of Death to be there in human form, they have phases where they chose to be in full form at the time of someone's death more or less often. It is most often when they see potential for a Reaper in someone who is soon to die and will not be able to become a Reaper if they have unfinished business.
Moths.
The moths that stem directly from Death are a small piece of them and Death knows, can feel and remembers every Death from the eyes and aura of these self-moths. These moths are typically known as the Moths of Peril as they are a sign of great danger, imminent death. While a moth is always at the scene of a death, every death, not everyone sees them or even remember them. After all, humans tend to overlook small things - but there are humans that have been able to sus out the trend and are superstitious due to it.
Death can also control/summon Moths in general and has a interesting connection to them.
Interaction.
Death can interact with alive, dying, or after-death beings. It is said that the week before death there is a piece of you on both the physical plane and the astral plane. This is true. During this week, if Death interacts with someone, it will feel far more intense, passionate and often frightening. The emotions that come with having a connection to both places are already very intense, adding interacting with Death, it can be an overwhelming experience.
In general interacting with Death, when your own death is not near, is not an overwhelming by any means - but there can sometimes be a bit of a magnetic pull or attraction felt, especially on full moons and eclipses.
Death cannot seriously affect peoples lives. They can only attempt to push them in the right direction to solve unfinished business before their death, but they cannot stop or halt their death.
Emotion.
While Death cannot stop or halt someone's death, there is a lot that can come with Deaths emotions when they reach intense highs. Heartbreak, fury, depression, can all cause a ripple effect on the physical plane that sets off the start of a plague or natural disaster in which many people die unexpectedly.
You ask: So if there's a massive fire and three hundred people die, was it because it was meant to happen or because Death had a panic attack? Yes.
Death only happens because it was meant to happen. How it happens can change, but not when. This doesn't mean however that Death never feels remiss over mass-death or plague that was sparked by their emotion.
Reaper Creation.
Death has the ability to create Reapers that aid in the crossing over of people during and after their deaths. Since Death cannot be there for every single person on earth in physical form. So, they have since it was possible, granted creatures that die the ability to comfort and aid other creatures in crossing over to where they are meant to go after death.

Timeless.
Death doesn't' quite follow time. Going forward and back as they please and as they are needed. If there's a strange lull in things in 2019, so Death finds themselves in 1802, but there's something important that Death is needed for in 2020, Death will simply be back in 2020 when that time comes, and back in time when that time comes. What passes, passes, again and again, as it passed. Nothing changes as Death cannot change things in that manner.
In this sense, Death time travels, but for Death... all time periods simply exist at the same time, like walking into different bedrooms of a very big castle, sometimes at the same time.
Death, thanks to moths, is everyone at once, every time period at once.
Let's just say Life can get exhausting even for Death.
Death's abilities may seem 'Overpowered', but take into account that while Death cannot truly die unless Life dies, they cannot kill anyone themselves. They cannot harm anyone in any significant manner. When someone dies it is always at the hands of someone else, themselves or biology.
If someone lunges at Death whom happens to be in human form with a sword, it will sink into Death's flesh, and it is possible to subdue Death with enough force and trauma, to the point of passing out - but... Death cannot 'die'. There cannot be death without Death, to kill death would be to end death as a concept, and everyone would continue living - including Death, bringing you back to Death not being dead.
Death can hurt people, but since there is no reason to fear for their own life, they rarely do - unless, it is...consented. That however, is a steamier and much different topic. (that you can read about under the widget titled 'Death Kink')
