Sleep
The eyes grow heavy and the lids close.
Blood spilling from the side of skull.
Woozy....flickering images of the night.
The stars above the earth below.
Ringing in the ears the sounds of the spirits.
A blade plunged in....
Blinking awake.....
I am Alive....
They had not sacrificed me that day. The day I had infiltrated the enemy's tribe. "Return my husband!" I screeched. I hissed. I brought my husband's Mandau squealing from it's sheath. The hairs taken from the head's he had collected brushing through my fingers as my palm clamped to the hilt. I swung it fiercely, teeth clenched so tight my gums bled. My blood fueled with the urges for revenge. I severed his killer's head. One to my personal collection. Invigorated I sprinted...I leapt through the jungle. Through their long hut hacking and slashing anyone who dared stepped in my way. Women and children...no different. Finally breathing heavily I come to the realm of the heads spun in their baskets. I saw him! I grabbed him and ran...Not fast enough. A sharp metal scraped the side of my skull. Bleeding I fell with a hitched breath. When I woke I was on a stony slab. Mist engulfed the area. There was howling of the masses in a brutal chant. Wishing for blood...yearning for my head. The hands grabbing roughly tearing off the wings from my back. A blade glinted above me and then driven down into supple flesh. Tearing through the skin that had been already scarred many times before. Jabbing through chest but as it would pierce towards the beating heart a commanding voice halted the ritual. "This one has earned the respect of the chief. She will live...let fate find us compensation for our losses." I was chucked then into a hut and passed out. Next day I awoke on a boat. Wounds stitched. Having been sold to a slaver's ship...destination...The Golden Tether.

The Dance of the Belly
I have sat stagnant for quite a while. I am missing the jungles and Pasir. I am not sure where she has gone. I slip away still when the guards are lax and relax in the gardens or escape back into the foliage in which I feel most natural. But my hunting grounds is the Tether. The heart of which lies in the atrium. Such a collection of heads there for the taking and so I often return to stare at them.
Given a chance to better myself in dance. I attended a class by Amenset. Judging by those around me who fell over and tripped over their feet. I showed my great passion for the movements. It reminds me of home and the ritual dances in which give praises to the gods. I popped my hip and rolled my belly. Agung was pleased.
I was given a Bronze badge on my papers from Tijan.
