What genre are you writing and what playlist(s) do you listen to when writing! Even if it's not on your WIP for November.
I play amour by david Chappelle and let it go off on a tangent from there.
But. I can only listen to instrumental music when writing. I'll start singing along.. 😆

If I post the songs that I listen non-stop that really gets my inspiration going for my one, main-story, the RPR community would unanimously agree I have certain degrees of schizophrenia.
But it's mostly anime soundtracks, some of which I haven't even watched. :B

When I write I pretty much exclusively listen to 24/7 Lo-fi. I can't think if there's too much going on in the background!!
Normally I don’t listen to music when I write, I wouldn’t even hear it anymore… I can put myself in such a concentration ‘bubble’ I’m far away… 😁

Well. Gonna be honest, friend, that just makes me more curious, lol.
I like lofi too but I use it as a chill out kinda music but yea too much going on can definitely ruin the writing mood.
Fantax. I'm jealous! I used to be able to do that I haven't been able to in some time. Maybe every once in a while.

For me, I listen to music before I started writing. Because I feel like when I write, I need a full quiet atmosphere to help my brain work and my hand type.
I got a lot of idea whenever I listen to the music before or after I'm writing, not while I'm writing, I can't.
My playlist would be the gloom k-drama soundtracks because I write better when I'm listening to sad musics.

I do this too when I'm working or studying!
I am ALWAYS forgetting youtube playlists exist.
I often write in silence in the dark on my phone.
like a lil creeper.

Simply all I will think about when I see your updates. 😆

Oh same hat; it's so much harder to focus on my words if I hear other words! I sometimes put on the playlists I use for ambience during my D&D games when I write medieval fantasy, specifically.
But I also frequently make playlists for The Character and listen to them while not writing to get the mind flowing. Right now it's this oldie occupying my mind:

To see the character this song is on the playlist of!! I don't know this song! I like it a lot!
I like to make those playlists for The Character too, but yes definitely more for getting in the mood to write and not actually writing!

That one in particular is for Heinrix van Calox, a Warhammer 40.000 character - specifically from the 'Rogue Trader' game by Owlcat Studios. He's a horrible person. No, really. He's a Space Spanish Inquisition torturer, and really proud of it. But he's so compellingly written, and there's a lot of dog motifs (both in his relation to the Inquisition and the player character), hence the song choice.
I was listening to a podcast about evil characters tending to be more interesting because there seems to be more put into their background and motives so that doesn't surprise me!

I think with Warhammer 40.000 the thing is that - everyone is evil. Everything is super bad. The Empire of Man is a fascist theocracy! So you get to take a look at why and how these characters justify their worldviews, and that can make for interesting narratives.
Apropos, enjoy this part of the Rogue Trader soundtrack. Great for writing space pirates.
