Paris was a city of glamour and wealth, the closer to Versailles palace, the more expensive and lavish properties were but also more limited in numbers. The outskirts were far more extensive, however, they left much to be desired, the only saving grace being the cheaper and wider accommodation to be found in the slums.
While the city donned sparkling cobblestones well laid out in its streets, the slums had to make do with a dirt road filled with potholes that no one ever cared to mend. Dated buildings, derelict dwellings of straw roof and shoddy lime and mud covered walls.
This and so many differences made the two sides of the city appear as if they were two kingdoms entirely different, especially with the gated wall that separated them.
The slums denizens did not have the propriety that the better off citizens donned nor the level of wealth and acquisition power. But it was a place that Aysel called home, sweet home.
Yet far from that grim reality, a pompous if daring handsome prince lived the life of the most unthinkable luxury, a life that did not come without its own golden chains of its own, in the name of tradition, customs, duty. Great sacrifices of love and freedom expected for the greater good of the kingdom. The lesser folk thought of royalty as the pinnacle of wealth, and that may be so, but they had their own fair share of burdens including forced into marriage at a young age to ensure descendants and continuity of the crown's legacy and power.
The sun had risen warm and welcoming, showering poor and rich alike with its golden rays yet it was not any other ordinary day. The entire city had risen to celebrate the Spring Flower Festival, well-to-do maidens throughout the kingdom would come to capital city to be properly introduced to society during a flower maiden parade, the luckiest of them would even get to dance with the prince and perhaps, win herself the title of queen if they played the cards well enough to steal the prince's heart.
"Imagine... dance away an entire evening with whoever from wherever as if I was some prize to be won by lucky chance, little better than a slave auction with fancier robes." sighed the frustrated if slightly embarrassed royal who just wanted to go out and ride and feel the wind on the face as he raced to the forests beyond.

"I need to see the city for myself, before all the fanfare dulls down its realities" confessed prince Alois Trancy to his tutor and most trusted confidante, before he sneaked out of the window much to the courtier's dismay

Aysel was a young maiden who served as a lowly maid in the royal castle. In truth she expected to remain there in that capacity until she either died or became too feeble to continue working for her family was counting on her. A year of drought had killed their crops some years back and had left her family heavily in debt to the crown. If she so wished, Queen Anne could effortlessly send her family to debtor's prison over it, a likely death sentence. However the queen had decided to shown mercy as long as she Aysel served well at the castle to work off the debt. Of course, her labors would never pay off the debt so any hopes she might have had of a husband and children had since been discarded. But if sacrificing her future allowed her younger half-siblings theirs, then so be it.
Right she was dressed in her somewhat tattered brown dress with a large grey scarf tying up and concealing her long silvery locks. As befitted a maid, she was amongst the first to raise and would be one of the last to turn in. Right now she was working in the great hall, sweeping the floors so thankfully she didn't have to scrub it currently with Lye. An unpleasant task that was especially hard on her hands. Afterwards she would attend to her section of bedchambers by making the beds, then later emptying the chamber pots as well as preparing the fireplaces. Then after that it would be washing any furniture of ornaments that were in need of it. There was very little time for any leisure and meals were short affairs between tasks. A difficult life, but a castle couldn't function without it's servants.
Taking a brief moment she wiped the sweat from her brow and surveyed her work. It was about half done now with the other half of the hall still needed to be swept still. Then only after having attended to the bedchambers could she have a moment to rest and eat. Quickly the main then resumed her sweeping for it would not look well to be seen as idle even if it had only been for a moment or two.
(Let me know if you want me to make a profile and I'll make a simple one.)

Queen Ann made her way down to the grand entrance, pausing when she caught sight of Aysel.
"Aysel, I need you to go to the markets and bring the freshest roses you can find, red, white and black ones to compliment well my outfit" Entrusted the queen, careful about even the smallest detail as were the flower ornaments

Upon seeing Queen Ann, Aysel would briefly stop what she was doing before bowing in respect and then nodding upon giving instructions to bring her the freshest white red and black roses for her outfit. "Of course your highness, I shall go attend to your command right away." Then setting the groom against the wall, she knew that another maid would take over accepting the money pouch from the queen to pay for said roses and heading to the market.
Once there, she quickly started browsing through the floral offering from multiple stalls, eyeing them carefully as she tried to pick out the freshest and most beautiful of the blooms. Eventually, she chose to buy the roses from two different stands and took a small moment to enjoy their sweet perfume. They needed to go to the queen quickly, but she wanted to save having them in her arms for just a few moments. A small luxury that was ordinarily far out of the reach of a mere maid like herself.
Looking around, she recalled that the flower maiden parade would be soon and wondered which lucky woman would win a dance with the prince? Aysel had seen him of course as being a maid meant getting to spot members of the royal family when working. Of course, she doubted he even know she existed, let alone her name, but that was to be expected. The only reason Queen Anne did was because of her unusual situation and even greater freedom to order her around. The young woman conceded that he was very handsome, but never wasted any time daydreaming about him. Princes didn't marry maids and while occasionally they might have an affair with a very pretty one, it often could end up going very poorly if it was found due to the scandal it would goes, thus it was generally in the royal family's interest to make such a woman disappear since no one would care what happened to a mere servant. Even so, she did enjoy sneaking glances at him all the same, the slight indulgence she allowed herself, admiring was fine as long as she remembered her place.
Of course she had no idea that was about to have a far closer encounter then ever before or the sort of impact it would have on her life.
(Figured maybe he bumps into her, knocking her flowers down and helps to pick them up. Also I am so sorry, the stuff going on made me forget they were supposed to meet in the market. X.X Thank you for the gentle redirection.)

Alois ventured out into the streets dressed in servant's attire, walking on foot to not draw too much attention to himself.
He wandered around the city's markets and streets, looking around discreetly if curiously, avidly listening into the every day's conversations going on.
The majority were bossing around maids and servants for them to fetch dresses, accessories and what not to prepare for the Flower Festival.
In his distraction stumbling into a poor girl that was carrying flowers.
"Oh dear I am so sorry" Apologized Aloise right away

Aysel just lowered the roses from her face when a man stumbled into her which caused her to intentionally spill the blooms onto the ground, though thankfully they were unharmed. No small mercy as she didn't have the money to buy another full set had they been damaged, with a sigh of relief, she bent down to pick them up quickly before anything could happen to them.
Once they were safely back in her arms, she smiled at Alois and then...tilted her head a little as if confuse by something. He looked...familiar, his was as well. It was on the tip of her tongue, but it just didn't seem to want to come. "I accept your apology as it was just an accident and it's a good thing these beauties weren't damaged. You do need to be careful in the market place as people are always bustling around, though I should take my own advice as well. That being said...do I know you from somewhere? You look awfully familiar? Were you a villager in Littleroot by chance? That's my home village though I don't think I'll ever see it again. Regardless, if there is your first time to the capital, I can give you some directions if you like.
Thus the maid unintentionally gave Alois a quick out to get her off track with his true royal identity. He could also get the impression that she was friendly, a bit chatter starved and also a little homesick. She was also carrying those roses so carefully and protectively as if they were worth their weight in gold.

Alois blinked briefly at the disaster as the young woman spilled the flowers all over the floor.
He bent down quickly muttering his apologies, mortified at her admonish that he be more careful, taking the scolding on stride as he helped her pick the roses gently, returning them to her.
When she mentioned him having a familiar face, he smiled briefly shaking his head negatively.
"I believe you may be mistaken, I have always resided at the city. Though work can be so demanding one seldom has time to enjoy the markets. They are liveliest during the Festivals. Would you not agree?" Quizzed Alois
