Those with a sense for magic may feel something distinctly ominous beneath the shade of the trees to the north of the village. That uneasy feeling is strongest near the Maksa Estate and the Greenswale Manor, but pervades the understory of the woods.
Even for those of only mundane ability, the shadows seem longer than they should be, and flicker strangely at the edge of sight. What could possibly be waking in the woods?
This is an open story event, and the plot line will progress as people poke their heads into it. It will include detective work, quite a few conversations with different characters, and most likely will have a combat portion at some point.
If you'd like to progress the storyline further, just mention your interest to myself or Arnold.

- The Hanging Tree, Aira Aldar has been put to rest with two silver tipped arrows through her eyes. Marris's fine bowmanship has saved the day, with the support of Constable Kavik Sakari, Ashe, and Lord Jhaes Maksa. The first day of fall and the dark of the moon survived by all in the village, several were badly wounded in the fight, and are now recovering. The shadows shrink back as the moon begins her journey through the sky again, though with the ancient wardings down, who knows what will sneak into Bitter Springs in the coming days?

As the dark of the moon approaches, the shadows grow bolder and the town's protections weaker. A great tree beast emerged from the woods and threatened Father Delton with hanging. Protected by Amaya and Ashe, the priest was permitted a reprieve, though the Phoenix woman was laid low by the essence thief.

Something dark attempted to breach the temple and take on Father Delton. Both he and Amaya can be found in the infirmary, looking slightly the worse for wear.

Hyacinthe, Marris, and Kavik all encountered some rather angry spirits last night, and probably have tales to tell if anyone wants to hear them. Hyacinthe has already spilled everything he saw to Viridian Ophon in the tavern, as well.

Strange little scraps of paper bearing slightly disturbing pictures have started appearing on resident's doors. Is this tied to the dark shadows stirring in the forest? Surely someone in the village has some idea of what is going on!
