    The stars were beautiful tonight. They twinkled at her, giving light to an otherwise dark night.
    Starsnatch Cliff was the perfect place to stargaze…it was in the name, after all. Mei-Xing looked down at her hands, her right thumb caressing her palm in a circular motion. This was one of the few places she felt…solace. While she loved Mondstadt with all her heart, the silence of the cliff was a good break from the usual bustling streets and chattering people. She returned her gaze to the terrain before her, watching the leaves of the trees rustle with the chilly midnight breeze. Campfires from both hilichurl camps and traveler camps were scattered along the plains as well, and Mei-Xing couldn’t help but find amusement in the strange dances the hilichurls performed near the fires.
    “Might I interest you in a bit of company?”
    The voice startled Mei-Xing, her hand going to her weapon instinctively as she turned. She relaxed her posture soon after, seeing that it was just the bard. She said nothing, only scooting over a few inches to give him a bit of room beside her.
    “So dark and mysterious, aren’t you?” The bard teased, taking a seat beside her. Again, she didn’t respond for a long moment. “…I just prefer the silence.” Mei-Xing said, tilting her head up towards the stars. “But good evening to you, Venti.”
    Neither said anything for a while. Mei-Xing didn’t seem to notice the spare glances Venti gave her way. “I know you like the quiet, but I’m sure a bit of music wouldn’t hurt.” Venti smiled, his lyre materializing in his hands. He plucked the strings with practiced ease, playing a soft lullaby.
    Mei-Xing leaned back slightly, turning her head to watch Venti play for a bit. She closed her eyes, feeling more relaxed as the music went on. He had a way of making her feel…nostalgic.
    Nostalgic for a moment that she didn’t remember.
