      Discovered yellow composite flowering herbaceous plant with a lion's face in the center. Able to roar and bite at those approaching. Plan to return tomorrow to collect a specimen for further experimentation. Should check local library to see if there are any books on local flora.

      Happened upon Amaltheia near the river after a mishap with Chugs. She's a mermaid acting as a foreign diplomat in the city. Her companions from yesterday evening have an interesting tale between them. She appears to be having trouble with the role of both diplomat and friend. I offered some advice before retiring for the evening. I think Arnold would have been proud.

      Lord Jhaes Maksa, a man of high respectability and many years experience in ritual magics of a natural persuasion, has recently quitted his country domicile to pursue botanical exploration in Alfheim. He can offer tutoring services to those with an interest in ritual magic, plant based magic, alchemy, botany, penmenship, or power lending. He is also a very skilled scribe, and has copied tomes both mundane and magical. Fee for services will depend on length of study and topic. Inquire at house number one in the residential district in person or through post.

      Discovered glowing plant at night fall, took cuttings. Is it a magical or biological process that produces the light? Does the bloom cycle coincide with the moon's cycle? Will attempt to root cuttings once back to the Manor.

      Happened upon a strange festival on the way home. A magical deer was fleeing the festivities. When I moved to intervene in her capture, we were chased by an army of turtle people and a woman riding a snake with a woman's face. We were then eaten by a great beast and quite suddenly in an empty field. The deer at some point turned into a woman named Abbie. I have written this down as she states we may forget. She said she happened upon the festival and was pulled toward the stage. The priestess called her Kamee? sama and wore a fox mask. Chugly did not appear to notice or care about the illusion. I will have someone read my notes upon returning to the City, just in case my journal is somehow tampered with.
