Tîgró Gazæ Oßläße

A large, well built man, Tîgró Gazæ Oßläße is the elder brother to the head of the Oßläße family, and manager of all the family's industry and business on his beloved island of Trótskarr. Now in the latter stages of his life, Tîgró is beginning to feel his age. Once fairly muscular and with a good body, he has since lost much of that muscle and become somewhat more frail. His features are wrinkled and his hairline is retreating back across his brow. His hair and beard are dark but speckled with the grey hairs that show his age. Still, despite this he still has a handsome face, and dark, tanned skin from a life spent under the baking sun of Ñabivtzi.

He is talented in managing both the agriculture and trade of the crops grown by his family, in particular Noîka, and as such as held his role for most of his life. Tîgró is content with this, however, and throughout his time has developed something of a passion for botany, growing many plants as a hobby in his own villa, as well as on an industrial level for the family trade. He views his position as one of significant responsibility and power within the family, but rarely tries to throw his weight around politically. While he likes to keep himself isolated and away from the dreadful politics of Püertagœ and the twelve great families, he does try to stay at least indirectly involved with the internal affairs of the Oßläße. One heavy concern on his mind is that of succession. He is aware that one of his brother's three children is likely to become the next family head, but he worries that none are truly capable. His nephew Kéil, while strong and charming, doesn't strike Tîgró as having the whit or tactfulness to lead the family, whereas his nieces have their own issues. He feels Væ is overly proud and vain, lazy and without motivation to work hard, while he worries Dãos, while capable and intelligent, lacks the presence and authority of a leader. Despite his concerns, Tîgró doesn't fully expect to live to see a succession.

More than anything else, Tîgró adores his sun baked home of Ñabivtzi, and the island of Trótskarr as a whole, rarely opting to travel away unless absolutely necessary and even then, does so grumbling and with a heavy scowl on his face. He enjoys the feel of the breeze over the sands as well as the beautiful creatures and plant life that dwell on the land. Most of all, however, he enjoys the peace. Usually living in ZàÞça to manage the family's businesses more closely and effectively, when the high tourist season comes along, Tîgró quickly relocates himself to his villa in Ñabivtzi, closer to the farms he supervises. While continuing to work while here, Tîgró considers this his annual holiday.

Tîgró has a very hands on approach to his work, compelling him to micromanage each small parts of the family's business. While he feels treating workers well is the best way to keep work efficient, he does not shy away from the use of slaves. He does what he can to keep his slaves healthy and well looked after, but will not tolerate disobedience or laziness in either the slaves, or paid employees. His philosophy is that hard work warrants reward, but laziness demands punishment. While he wants his workers to like him, Tîgró finds it more important that they respect him. He always makes himself as presentable as possible when he's working, never showing himself to his workers in any condition other than his best. He wants to set a good example.

Not a particularly pious man, Tîgró personally believes the best way to honour any god is to make use of their creations respectfully. As such, he rarely sets aside time to honour any god directly, instead convincing himself that in his botanical and agricultural pursuits, he is therefore showing his devotion. On some occasions, it is not impossible to hear Tîgró murmuring pious words to Praq-huykl', god of the Earth and Harvest, especially when tending to his precious flowers and plants.

When not working, Tîgró can be found either tending to his many personal plants at home, or relaxing in the soothing rays of the sun with a cool drink in hand. Both of these things relax him and allow him to breathe a sigh of relief. He generally prefers to be alone during these times, often recharging from being among people with work, but he doesn't mind sharing the time with someone he is close to, more often than not a relative he invited to visit. Tîgró takes delight in the fact his youngest niece Dãos developed her own passion for plant life, and enjoys acting on their shared hobby whenever she visits his villa.
