I don't see any harm in posting as a character as long as posts stay OOC
By the way it really makes me happy to see how many people are using this challenge to write fanfiction!!

I decided to go with my penname and put links to my characters involved in this story. I'm approaching this as a writer, not immersing myself into the character.
.
Interestingly, on Tolkien Forums, I reconnected with a guy who wrote middle-earth fanfics on the 'Scriptorium of Imladris' forum on the old One Ring . com when a username very similar to the one I remembered shared them there. I had read three of his fanfics he shared there in 2008 when I was 14, and I remember discussing writing styles on the thread. He and others were quite inspiring, and it got me started on my middle earth fanfic journey.

Sort of kind of unrelated to the group but...
Realizing a long-time friend is writing a massive fanfiction right after the hype of this challenge inspired me enough to write a 7,7k words long fight scene, in one sitting, in the span of a single night...
Thank you, friend. Thank you, Claine. Thank you Write-A-Thon challengers...

Aaaa I'm so glad to hear!!! I hope this November is fun and productive for you πͺπͺ
Ehehe I'm excited. A fairly prolific American fantasy author is giving a presentation about writing in my home city. I've already read and enjoyed all his books too, so of course I booked a seat
(I don't want to say who, or at least not yet, because I don't want to doxx myself)

Idk that gave me a real solid guess! But because that's how I've heard of a specific author referred to as a lot. Obviously there's more than one.
But. I'm excited for you I can't wait to hear who it is or how it went!

Hahah I kind of doubt you've guessed. It's neither GRRM nor Brandon Sanderson!!
Correct π
To be fair I'm very new to both authors so I knew I may very easily be wrong. I still do hope you'll share when the time comes.

Just a month! And I still haven't decided on a word count (*/ΟοΌΌ*)
Anyway, the mention of the Resources page reminded me that I have a copy of 'The Biology of Human Survival: Life and Death in Extreme Environments' by Claude A. Piantadosi (2003 Oxford University Press), covering topics on
Anyway, this is just to say that if that's something you need to know about for your projects, this book exists!

Claine, I was wondering, Would that be okay if I write my story in my language first before I translate it in English?
Of course! There is no rule on what language you must use!
Just a reminder time is almost up to enter the raffle in the most recent announcement!!
The first is on a Saturday!
Excitedly I'm off. So I'm going to try to get a head start for myself and write around other responsibilities. If anyone does better with a body double, I'll be around RPR and the group a lot that day! π
I also use discord!

Same , I hope to hang out while writing
Yes, that sounds cool, a bar, crowded like every Saturday night (not only with fever) and in the middle, that one person, in front of a laptop, an ongoing ticking on keys.
βHey, what are you writing?β
βOh, my story for RPRβ
βWhat, right now, is it November????β turns to the crowd with a hoar voice βHey people, lower the voices, someone is trying to type for the Write-a-Thonβ murmurs in the cafΓ©, whispers left, here and there a βpsstβ βitβs for RPRβ

Damn. I missed the raffle. Haven't bene here much. Hoping everyone is doing well and getting geared up for the first!
The raffle is done? Welp, sad. I'll write the tiny prompt thing anyway. :B
I'm going to roll the results when I get home from work, so if you get it in before then (about 3 hours) I'll include you π
Just trying to allow the date to tick over in other parts of the world. It's been the 14th here for 13 hours but it's not fair to hold contests to Australia time π
Whew! I think I got in in time. It's 7:30PM here in the west coast of Canada. Blues says he isn't going to make it.
