Franklin and Imara met when Franklin was 23 and Imara was 18. He was about to graduate college as an engineering major; she had just entered college as an art major. Franklin felt Imara was far too smart to waste her life away with art; she could be an engineer, like him, or a doctor, or... After all, Imara became friends with his friends as a freshman and they were all highly intelligent people, off to do great things. But Imara wanted to be an artist.

After the first year, Franklin moved away. He and Imara still kept in touch, and Imara decided to leave college with an associate's in art. College wasn't really her thing, she said, and she had enough experience now that maybe...

Imara's new job as a graphic designer took her to Franklin's city. They met up again. They fell in love. They kind of screwed up and Imara got pregnant.

But their jobs both were doing okay and paid well, so they got married within three months and then, March 22nd, had Carston - their first child.

It was only while contending with Carston's powers - his ability to control the weather - that each realized the other had powers. Imara could teleport, and when Carston was tantruming she would teleport the two of them away from everyone else, allow his storms to pass with only affecting the two of them. Franklin could control objects with his mind, and as the two of them learned how to be parents and a married couple he would change Carston's diaper without touching the child.

It was an unspoken agreement between the two that they wanted more children. And, when Carston was four, Imara found out she was pregnant again. On May 1st, she had Carston's little sister.

Cassandra was much easier than the pernicious five-year-old. She was still a child, of course, but as far as Imara and Franklin could tell she was powerless. Except for the fact she kept looking at things no-one could see, and talking to things no-one could hear. They tried to get her treated for a mental illness, particularly childhood schizophrenia, but she was so young and so grounded that it never panned out. And good thing, too - it turned out that Cassandra could see ghosts. As she got older, she started trying to help people with the ghosts she could see. She also got into photography; photographs often captured the ghosts she communicated with, allowing other people to at least kind of see them.

When Cassie was four, Imara had another daughter. April 4th brought Calista Evans into the world. Like Cassie, Franklin and Imara thought she had no supernatural abilities at first.

On April 29th, when Calista was six, Imara had their last child: a little boy named Calvin. When Calvin was born, something... changed. Calvin was very powerful; Imara could tell this even in the hospital. But when she brought Calvin home, it took them two whole weeks to get his powers in order. That was when they realized Calista could amplify anyone else's powers.

Calvin terrifies the rest of the family, to be honest. He can control matter; change the properties of it, transform one thing into something else. As such, he's a terror with little to no discipline.

Imara tries her best, but she can't risk her family by upsetting Calvin too much. Franklin has thrown himself into work to avoid Calvin. Carston despises Calvin and has plans to kill him. Cassandra resents her parents for not doing their job with Calvin. Calista can't be around Calvin for too long or else she risks him unravelling the universe or something crazy.

And Calvin?
