Remmi is a Synch, a consciousness that exists simultaneously across multiple bodies, or sleeves, by using two distinct techs:
- Brain Stacks, an invasive piece of bioware that reads, processes, saves and can upload a human brain's activity and essentially human consciousness. It takes the form of a web of microscopic strands that root their way everywhere into the brain and connects to a "plug" at the base of the neck, in which a stack disk performs continuous updates to an internal save.
- Quantum Entanglement, in the form of an entanglement disk, a slice of material from a rare alien plant that permits faster than light, wireless and instantaneous transfer of data.

In her case, she used to be a human, but "Synched up" a few years ago with her Battle Sleeve, or Breathless Beast.

Remmi was born fifteen years before the Earth-Mars conflict. Due to the 2109 Varheen Flu epidemic, it had been found she had the Golden Bug mutation, a rare genetic defect that makes her much more susceptible to the disease and to brain infections, but also makes her immune system much less susceptible to reject the more invasive types of brain-stacking.

Because of this, Remmi was recruited as a Rider when the war exploded, at the age of 16. She was stacked, given a beast and copious amounts of braindance training before she was sent behind enemy lines. Like most Riders like her, she was an elite specops, specialized in high priority target elimination, civil sabotage, terrorism and intel gathering. As the conflict died down and the armistice was signed, giving Mars its independance, the confiscation of her ride led to a brutal "Rider's Ghost Body Syndrome", and the horrors she commited chased her as nightmares.

The therapy she had to cope with both led to her realizing her transidentity, and then to transitioning. The expenses pushed her to engage with the underground Breathless Beast sport to finance the expensive prescriptions and operations. This is where she found the comfort of a community of veterans and outcasts, both rivals and friends. Quickly, as she had her own beast engineered, she found it a formidable way to express her own identity and became a Synch, splitting her consciousness across the two bodies.

Her experience as an elite troop led her to a quick climb of the scene's ladder. After a joking suggestion from Sarah Dreckle, her partner at the time, to stream her games, Remmi started a commented live feed of her own battles under her combat moniker of Bunny_Rem. Her colorful personality and cutesy-though-deadly aesthetic pulled enough of an audience for her to attain larger spheres, and to quickly turn Breathless Beast streaming into her regular job.
