Maeve is the youngest of the three Brighton daughters: the embodiment of a summer's dawn. Often described as being "lost in her own little world," she spends most of her free time (when she is not dutifully studying her lessons), flitting about the garden and castle grounds whispering to the flowers. A compassionate, gentle, and rather sensitive soul, Maeve cherishes the vulnerable and the innocent; the type of kind-hearted soul to save spiders from windowsills. Plants and animals seem drawn to her, stems and vines reach out and bow to brush against her arms and otherwise timid or fierce creatures leave the safety of their shadows to gaze upon her with enchanted curiosity.

Maeve strives to uphold the image of the perfect Brighton princess, and in turn the perfect daughter-- unabashedly and devoutly loyal to her father. Soft spoken, polite, and reserved, as she should be. However, Maeve often has trouble regulating her emotions or maintaining her composure which causes her to act or speak out in a manner that is unbefitting for a Brighton woman. "Her heart is too big for her chest," they say. Even when she does attempt to keep her emotions in check, Maeve's wings often betray her: quivering or fluttering with excitement, flaring with fear or anger, or drooping with shame or dejectedness.

Maeve possesses some magical abilities; her strongest and most practiced ability lies within her healing magic, which was inherited by her mother. She also possesses some lesser elemental or nature magic, mostly pertaining to water and earth, and can create minor illusions through light manipulation. Out of her family line, Maeve's magical abilities and talents are the weakest.

She wears a beautiful pale gold circlet at all times; a shimmering rainbow opal set in the center of the circlet. An heirloom that belonged to her mother and is her most prized possession. Maeve, like all faeries, sports a set of delicate insect like wings on her back- the wings themselves are translucent with an opalescent shine to them, making them glimmer like a stained glass window. Her wings are flexible enough to drape neatly flat against her back like a cape and, in the company of humans, often hides them.

King Osiris Brighton is everything a king should be, or at least aspire to be. Carrying himself with an air of regal nobility and sporting the ethereal beauty that all the fae-folk seemed to possess: sharp, elegant features, silky white hair, and intelligent yet kind eyes. He ruled his kingdom with a stern, yet fair hand and graciously watched over his people; protecting and preserving his citizens and fae culture alike. Those who have met him describe King Osiris as imposing, yet charming with a remarkable quick-wittedness about him. Possessing strong elemental abilities that mostly pertained to water and ice magic and able to manipulate the shadows around him; his enemies called him a "trickster demon." King Osiris most prized possession was his equally enchanting and beautiful wife: Queen Seraphina.

Queen Seraphina Brighton was a soft-spoken woman with a generous heart and a knack for healing magic; her knowledge of botany, potions, and medicines surpassed most. She blessed the king with three equally charming and beautiful daughters: Lyra, Adelaide, and finally Maeve. However, Queen Seraphina found herself constantly plighted by ailments and although she adored her children, often had to leave the raising of them to the tender hands of the nursemaids. During the war, Queen Seraphina would succumb to a Fae illness known as "Blight", an illness that slowly ate away at her magic and withered her body-- her wings became so brittle and fragile that they had become full of holes, tears, and breaks. Most attributed her poor health to the stress from the raging war, others claimed a curse or hex had been put on the poor queen by enemy forces... As the Queen's condition deteriorated over the course of the war, she decreed that her daughters were to be kept away from her and forbade them from seeing her in such a state, fearing the emotional distress it would bring to her children and fear that the Blight would spread to her precious girls. Not even the kingdom's most talented magical healers could cure the queen. As the war slowly crept to its end, so to did Queen Seraphina, succumbing to her illness. Her hard and twisted body was entombed in the trunk of her most favored willow tree on the castle grounds; blessing the tree one last time to forever remain lush and in bloom even in the dead of winter.

King Osiris returned from the war despondent and in despair. Having not only lost his beloved wife, but also one of the faeries most greatest gifts: their wings. The king's wings had been badly damaged beyond repair during a particularly vicious battle, rendering him forever grounded. The emotionally distraught King, with no sons to take over for him on the field, had no choice but to accept the terms of the treaty that was offered to him... With both of his eldest daughter's married to esteemed fae lords and with children of their own, the king had no choice but to relinquish the only light he had left: his youngest daughter Maeve.

The Sisters
Lyra Brighton: the eldest of the Brighton children. Composed and elegant, though has a mildly stern or cold demeanor. Married to a high fae lord and has borne him thus far two sons and a daughter. Like her father, Lyra possess elemental abilities, leaning heavily towards water and ice manipulation.

Adelaide Brighton: the second eldest daughter. Quick tempered and quick to anger, regal in her own right however. Married to a high fae lord and has a daughter, currently expecting a second child. Her abilities and talents lie in light manipulation and illusions, though has a tendency to practice fire magic.
