Magical Tides
Anexus appears to have a natural magic that is shifted by the phases of the moon Aetheros; these magical currents affect far than just lunar beings and gates, however. What might work during one phase may not work the next, spells requiring alterations in casting or potions different reagents. This especially applies to interdimensional magics, which are already affected by the nature of the realm; it is very difficult to 'dial out' and such work is fraught with complication.
Aurora
Where most planets see aurora created by the interaction of planetary magnetism and solar flares, on Anexus they are caused by the interaction of planetary magic with the magic of the moon Aetheros (some may call these surges 'lunar flares'). This in turn interferes with the magic on the surface of the planet, either by boosting it or by making it have unpredictable results (even temporary weakness by 'pushing' the magic in concentrations elsewhere for a brief time). It's loved by certain classes of magic users (such as wild mages) and hated by others. This phenomena showcases stronger effects where more visible, best seen above the central sea, and while a somewhat rare occurrence isn't unheard of and happens at least a couple times a year. While purples are the most prominent color seen, these aurora display an intense rainbow array of colors one might not expect to see with the naked eye.

Portal Magic
The nature of Anexus in connecting to other realms through spacetime tends to make 'homebrew' travel and related magic such as pocket dimension access rather unstable. It is very difficult to work with and even once one thinks they've got things figured out, an established door may begin to behave erratically or abruptly destabilize in response to local forces. It seems only magical items linked to other places that are immune from influence. That being said, the only way to link a magical item to Anexus is through the use of moon glass, which is fashioned into 'Keys of Aetheros' by the dragons. -
Teleportation and Summoning
Anexus appears to have an interdimensional 'atmosphere' of sorts that makes traveling out by magic or even advanced technology rife with complication; as the 'tides' are pushed by the phases of the moon, interdimensional magics are stressed. A portal of any kind becomes unstable and prone to failure. A planeswalker will find themselves unable to depart without extreme caution and significant force, finding themselves rebounded or even misdirected in their travels. A summoning will be a headache for any mage, requiring study and experimentation to find a way to 'get through' and establish a connection - even for a moment.

Local Phenomena
While the weather is what one might except for such a climate - hot, dry summers and wet, rainy winters - there are some unusual distinctions to the local weather patterns.
Gateway Showers / Meteor Showers / Moon Showers
An event that typically occurs during 'winks' when the magical is moon is at its height in strength. These are the occasions when lunar fragments called 'tears of Aetheros' fall to the planet, creating new gates and moon glass sites.
'Rains of Madness'
The lunar augurist are depended upon to predict the effects the magical moon has on all things, not just moon gates - they also read the patterns of magic in the aurora to forecast magical weather, such as the 'rains of madness'. These come most commonly during the winter and spring.
They are unnatural rainstorms that come from the forest, made almost entirely of wild magic - hard to predict and look like regular rain, but afflict people who get wet enough with dramatic temporary changes, from growing a mustache to switching race with the nearest person. An amusing secondary effect of these rains is the peculiar effect of a person being convinced they've always been how they are until the effect wears off.
