In the interest of fostering camaraderie, and the fact that I am currently drinking at three in the afternoon, I propose… I don’t know if it can be called a game… but a diversion, which can be summarized thusly:

Tell us three bat-wacky, non-spoilery things about your character; IE, character inspiration, ironically appropriate theme song, what you almost made them into instead of what they are, how you imagine them eventually dying, would they ever change careers and if so to what.

All of the above, of course, just being suggestions - feel free to depart from the list.

I’ll start.

1: Ironheart is actually a relaunch of my original Furcadia character… who I STOPPED playing in 2001. Hopefully that frightens you as much as it frightens me.

2: The original version of Ironheart was a lynx… who was eventually turned into a minotaur. Because reasons.

3: The current version of Ironheart is loosely based on Letho from The Witcher 2.

And now, I shall leave this post here like an awkward high five. Will anyone else join in, or will I be left hanging?

I'll HIGH-SIX you bro. My only problem is that I have TOO MANY alts. But one in particular is always a hoot and fun to play!

1. Rexington was originally made with the thought in mind that he fancied women's clothing. Basically he'd lay someone and take their clothes as a souvenir but really he just wanted to wear it!

2. His name was literally created by trying to figure out how I could make it sound inappropriate but still badass. Thus Ser Sexy Rexy was born.

3. He was originally made with an unhealthy obsession with all things bird related! Like a crazy catlady of sorts.
I'll do this!

Anastacia: Ahem.

1) Anastacia's Original name was Gala Chazov. I played her in cross and she was my dragonlands char! Also Redwall. She was a redwall character.

2) She is and always will be a hopeless, adrenaline filled dreamer. She has no common sense when it comes to flying her hawk and seems intent on near death experiences. Why? Because one dice roll made it so!

3)Her inspiration was and is, randomly and weirdly enough Belle from Beauty and the beast. (Lame right?!)
1) Yonega's current incarnation is actually one of many in her long life as a played name and is the first time I have ever played furcadia's Dragonlands canon. Her first incarnation was about 13 years ago as a tabletop feral wolf, companion to a merc in the merry band of troublemakers. Needless to say, this didn't last long. Her second was when she was first brought into furcadia and I didn't know squat about the game, lore, or anything really. She wasn't TOO different from her mainstream incarnation, but certainly not what you'd call good to play. Then, she had been an oft angry, loner furre with a "dark secret" regarding dark primes and other stuff I'm not proud of, heh. Her third, primary, and longest-surviving incarnation was the Lycanthrope. For 11 years, I wrote her as a human nomad, wandering town to town (dream to dream) simply wanting to survive. part of her story carried over from the psycho furre stage and really began to develop because of it, but I'll not spoil the fun there.

2) I used to be a god awful ...gods what's the word...inter-RPer...er. Or something, I don't know the term; point is, I'd write with myself between alts, usually involving the old and ornery lycan here and my now permanently (and sadly) retired nessy, Asiil. The conversations were weird.

3) "When I was a noob", Yonega was killed, ghosted, and reborn, resurrected, or reincarnated 6 times. My favorite and only one I bother mentioning in her Human-Lycan stint is when she and Trine finally accepted the inevitability of their relationship 8 years ago.

4) Her inspiration is a tricky one because her first incarnation I didn't understand the logistics of quality RP. I wanted something "unique and outstanding" and couldn't manage how to make her not so overpowered. "Weaknesses?! Pfft, she's got a god in her". The Human-incarnation was probably inspired by Harry Potter and Underworld. Lupin rocks my socks off.
HMMMM. Time for some tidbits are Aurore!? Considering the title of this thread, I feel it's appropriate to get some Stranges in here!

1. The name Aurore was among four potential names on a list for me to use. Other names in the list included Nadia, Fleur, and Sebastienne. I aaaaalmost went with Fleur, but then last minute changed it to Aurore.

2. Aurore was originally going to be a gazelle, and a mage. And then I changed her into a genet and made her Val's twin sister. I rolled for her occupation, and got artist, which worked out great!

3. Originally she was a character who was very heavily inspired by Luna Lovegood, from the Harry Potter books/movies. Some of that still sticks currently, but she's morphed into more of her own character with some hints of Luna intact.
Ooooh, strange tidbits...

1. It's mentioned on the RPR, but Tara is my original Furc character as well, written alongtimeago when I was in high school. As a result, her backstory is, uh... edgy. Because I wanted to be COOL, of course, and you can't be cool and just have grown up normally. It also accounts for her being half nymph. Now, of course, it's just embarrassing, but I've played her too long to rewrite things now.

2. There was a time, in my early Furc years, where Tara flatly refused to wear clothing at all. Lots of weapons, but no clothes. There's art to reflect this, actually. She's gone a bit in the opposite direction now by having ALL THE CLOTHES. All of them. Ever. Which is why her avatar coloration reflects what she looks like naked, not the colors of what she's wearing. I'd have to change it too often.

3. In her younger years, Tara lived in a big mansion with a small guild of assassins. I had names and descriptions and personalities for all five of them, including a lich, named Reaper, whose flesh was invisible, so he looked like a walking skeleton. I have kept notes on everything.
Okay, I will totally bite on this.

1. This is the second incarnation of Agarias. The first was for a private RP and was human. Obviously that would not fly here, so he became a mau. Also, he used to be a caravan master, whereas here he's a travelling merchant with no carts of his own. Otherwise he's stayed remarkably similar, which is awesome.

2. This is also my second toon based on a merchant character concept. The first one became mind-bogglingly powerful in the dream he lived in, so perhaps I will try to corner markets again sometime. >:3

3. Agarias' determined effort to remain nonviolent is inspired by Rock from Black Lagoon. Like Rock, Agarias has a touch of idealism but is starting to slide towards a more grey and grey morality. He's not saving anyone just by being here though. Maybe that'll come later. Black Lagoon is my favorite anime and one of the best things about it was how Rock managed to play the game so amazingly well, even as no one thought he was a threat. ^_^
Calliste's OOC back story isn't that interesting! She's a relatively new character (for me, anyway) and has only been around since the end of may 2013 whereas all my other characters are generally around the 10yr old point!

She was thought up and created while brainstorming for Greystone with Alliah's player, with her general personality and quirks etc given to her then without any real inspiration from another character to go by but instead using the role she was to be as to how she was to be played etc.
Linia!

1) She was designed after Mikasa from Attack on Titan, complete with some pretty dark background trauma. I wanted to make a very strong female character that didn't really rely on anyone.

2) If Linia hadn't have joined the army her family would have starved in the streets. She would have tried to be a hunter but would certainly not have been able to support her family as well as she could have.

3) Linia is the most normal character I have ever created. Most of my characters have little quirks or special abilities. Lin has nothing but character and that's why I love her so much.
Mine aren't too novel, because Mika's not very interesting, and so some of you have already heard all of this before. Sorry.

Mika first came into being simply from the phrase, "A meek meerkat named Mika." (Also the start of his desc.) I like alliteration. That is the entirety of the inspiration for his character.

His mother buys almost all his clothes for him still. He has no sense of fashion, nor does he care to cultivate one. She also sends him food when she can, including some fabulous maggoty cheese that he quite enjoys.

He didn't talk until he was five or six.
Eh, let's go with Mordekai, because whoo!

Mordekai's design was bought from a friend, and happened to coincide with an alt my then-partner had just recieved, as well as two of our characters. It just worked out for him to be the son and brother to my old alt, and my partner's new one.

Mordekai hates tomatoes. Not just the taste, but the sound of someone eating them, the feel.. You want to make him cringe and gag? Eat one in front of him, and watch him cry.

He had a lot of speech problems as a child, mainly from being a neurotic mess. Whilst he's grown out of most of them, times of stress can send him into a Porky Pig "th th th th th thats all, folks" moment.

Annnd for Domino...

Domino has so many scars because I was worried about being called out for dodging a hit when I was younger. It took two years before someone actually mentioned it to me, and helped me overcome that little bit of shyness.

He's the one character I always go back to if I take a hiatus from Furcadia. He's one of, if not the, oldest character I have.

There's less than... Ten characters who knows Domino's real name. And even then, most of those only recently found it out. WHO NAMES THEIR KID DOMINO?
We'll go with my registered character, Jake Demessey.

1. At character creation, Jake was an illiterate peasant that fist-fought in public venues for bored people's money. Everything else about him save for a fairly mundane back-story was developed over time and gameplay.

2. Jake's height and build were based off of professional boxing legend Jack Dempsey.

3. Originally, Jake's intended character arc was meant to phase from common bystander to heroic adventurer. That is not what happened.
I guess I'll start with the newest and work my way back? I'll even start with a personal quirk rather than a character one... I've found that I -very- much enjoy playing my way down a bloodline. Tweaked aging allows me not to have to retire the oldies, but it's just become so neat to see how vast a change can be wrought in family appearance by the third generation.

- Schiavona is named after the kind of weapon she carries and uses said sword as her focus when doing major casting, much like a wand or wizard's staff. She refuses to be without it, and while she must occasionally disarm for propriety must have it in sight at all times. While it's not the case, she's convinced that without it she can't cast as strongly.

- Schia has gotten to the point where she has almost more scar tissue than proper skin. The cuts about her eye and twice broken nose grant her a bit of character, but the bulk of the damage lay in severe burns that consume most of her torso. The flame was hot enough to essentially melt her skin, and there are still pebbles fused with her hide from when she fell. Had there not been clergy to stumble across her, the burns would have been lethal.

- Between Schiavona, Trishula, Kilij, and their father... they have an affinity for all four elements. While she has had very little opportunity to learn to cast cooperatively with a fire mage (due to picking on baby brother), she is fairly adept at joint casting with both water and air mages to harness the strengths of both elements.
Oookaaaay. I'm loving reading all of these, so I'll add mine.

1. Narsuun was my first ever Furcadia character. The first alt I ever made. I don't remember how I came up with the name, and to this day I DESPISE HIS NAME. But I'm too attached to the character to delete or change it.

2. Narsuun went continuity hopping and I ran into a problem. He ended up being in too many places and his history got all fudged up. So there are two incarnations of the character, both called Narsuun, that exist in different roleplay continuities. Much to the confusion and annoyance of pretty much everyone who roleplays with me.

3. Nar has been through many IC trials in dragonlands canon, including one very brief RP with Reegarr (yes, the Prime). His entire history, save his childhood is accurate to RP that actually happened. He started as a blank slate and I built him from there, but in my own teenage years I admit to having been a god moder and had some pretty dumb ideas, so he has been constantly filed down and rebuilt, but the core experiences remain and that's why he is who he is today.
1: Raefaelin was created for the dream called Happy Hooker. She was a young teen found on the edge of the docks working from boat to boat until she was taken in by the Strihe Clan.

2: Faelon has always been a wolfhound but she has the name Raefaelin because I couldnt decide on which first name would suit the character.

3: She's my own creation intended to be different from the perfect noble women and princesses that seemed to be really popular when I created her in 2001.

Moderators: Calliste Ahmose (played by FishyFi) Mikhael Solberg (played by minizeries)
