Last night, the short merc with the tall sword could be seen sporting a crown of flowers.

Comments on the floral headdress were ignored.

Locals have reported a few disappearances among their neighbours -- a family of mice, some local hedgehogs -- but the soldiers reassure them that nothing is wrong.
Cryptozoology
A few rumors have started spreading about a monster in the deepest parts of the Lorewood, where some furres may find silken strands hanging from tree limbs, though descriptions of what's making it seem to vary widely. One rumour said they glimpsed a massive shape, with too many eyes that glistened in the moonlight. One rumor said that they saw a mutitude of legs scuttling about, and another rumour said that it was shaped like a furre with glittering fangs. However, they all seem to agree that they've only managed to get the briefest glimpses of it before it disappears into the trees.
Fire
The tavern burned down. It took the general store and florist's shop with it, even caving in parts of their modest basements.

The cause of the fire is unknown. It may have been an innocent (and common) kitchen fire, but suspicious souls may point to rebel sabotage.

As the community reels, decisions must be made about housing and rebuilding efforts as winter nears.
A Crack in the night...
Those within earshot of Ser Rexington's apartment deep into the night, mainly his neighbors, would have been alerted to an altercation by a loud CRACK in the night. Those familiar with the sound of gunpowder would know right away what the sound was. The soldiers outside ordered to guard the place seemed startled but did not go inside. No one was seen coming out or entering til atleast dawn.
A concealed figure was dragged into the blockade prison late in the night. The herbivores 'generously' housed there bit their tongues to withhold complaints of nearly an hour of angry yowling featuring several choice vulgarities directed towards the Balsamud knight, including pointed stipulations that his mother smelled of elderberries.
There are whispers amongst the herbivores working on the clearing and rebuilding of the tavern that at certain times of the day on most days of the week there someone is sneaking just a little extra food and other small basic supplies to them.
Mid-day, a train of caravans bustled crates and barrels into the heart of the burned down section of town. Blue letters with silver trim stamped the containers, and were etched onto the fabric of the wagons themselves, the monogram SC in stylized script. Several well armored furres of various races accompanied them into town, depositing most of the goods by the remains of the bakery and tavern. Music and laughter could be heard until late into the evening, before the empty wagons left a dusty trail out of town.
Sometime late last evening the dark shadow of what may or may not have been a scarhawk could be seen flying over the settlement. It is unsure if the mount had a rider.

Early in the morning, golden feathers have likely been found near the woods - covered in soot and mud and blood, however there are no signs of the hawk, the rider and similarly a certain lop.
The past few days a certain Knight's lucky neighbors (or those watching him) would have been treated to quite a show.

Yelling could have been heard from within his walls aswell as growls and other noises. Slamming of doors, furniture thrown about, all the while the soldier at his door is silent on the matter. But genets came and went, and lately only one.
Working townsfolk have reported sightings of a man calling himself Jake in the early mornings. He is said to be paying whomever owns a Ostrix-drawn cart traveling at moderate speeds for the privilege of lashing himself to the back and running at pace with the cart.

These sessions have regularly been followed by prolonged outdoor sparring matches between himself and local army recruit Schiavona, both empty handed and with practice weapons.
Having returned, by scarhawk, early in the evening the night before, it seems the blue-haired lynx has wasted no time getting into trouble. The woman was seen meekly reporting to the gaol at dawn, dressed comfortably but no less sharply than ever, with a small pack of documents and writing supplies to keep herself occupied. Whispers suggest the sharp-tongued femme simply said something ill-considered, but other rumors suggest there might be different reasons behind her incarceration.

Whatever the reason, it seems her gaol-time went smoothly, since the lynx-femme was out again by noon and reported back two hours later with a massive plate of ginger cookies for the soldiers inside. Perhaps the time was actually a cover for a scandalous assignation with someone on duty!

Rumors circulate that a few nights past a certain Knight had an altercation in the gaol though some say the bath house and broke Eugene's jaw! Those that have seen him recently would only notice a black eye, perhaps hinting the story is greatly exaggerated.
Another rumor would circulate that there was another incident in the bath house not too long ago though like before some say it was the gaol where the same Knight tried to kill a young, horned wolf said to be the spawn of another in the area. Others say it was just a great deal of yelling, some that fists flew.
Rexingtons coat is rumored to have been found lovingly adorned with blood. Hours later a mysterious box is whispered to have been delivered to the same manx

This morning more whispers about a bigger box may have been found by the old cafe with Rex's name written in blood.

What's going on?
Someone had taken beautiful advantage of the chaotic situation last night. The temple lies in ruins, smoke still sifting from the damage done.

There are not witnesses (that would come forward, especially after last night) and kiwi blood and red dye splatters the ground.

Written on the side of the walls are the following words - in blood:

WHERE ARE YOUR PRIMES NOW

(EDITED)
The self-appointed new commander of the garrison Leander, or if you believe the rumours, Narsuun, has been seen donning work clothes and performing manual labour.

The herbivores that were detained at the garrison has been living in squalor, and with the onset of winter and destruction in the town, many have no other place to go. This past night Ser Leander picked up a shovel and helped to clean the cramped living space in the interest of preventing the spread of disease. A construction project has begun inside the garrison to give the herbivores a larger indoor area in which to keep warm over the harsh winter. A great deal of the work is being done by the herbivores themselves, but the fort commander and some of his soldiers have been pitching in.

The construction will be slow going. Trees need to be felled, then the wood dried, foundations made and the building site kept dry and warm. Stone will also need to be quarried. Chances are, any folk seeking work will find it at the garrison. It will be cold, hard work, but it will be work.
A golden Hawk touched down today, both rider and bird exhausted! It is rumored, the bird had a bundle of something in its talons.
Jake Demessey, local man of mystery, had been spotted dragging a small cart around various locations, including the former Herbivore camp. Anyone living in the surrounding area could tell interested furres that he claimed to be some sort of doctor and treated civilians for free.

Splints and bandages were unusually clean, and very medicine issued from the cart appeared to be a sort of herbal remedy. Whether it be a tonic, tea, decoction, tincture, oil, or salve, Jake had answers for all manner of ailments. Reviews amongst local folk, more used to the hit and miss of an actual magical healer or the cruel hand of fate, were mixed. Not every remedy was a complete success, but none of them made matters worse either.
Of recent, outrageous claims have circulated. Perhaps it was the intense cold, or an after effect of snow blindness?

A great golden ostrix has been spotted time and again, scrounging for food in Lorewood and even rooting through the garbage at the edge of town.

Gossip has been all the worse as the snow chases furres indoors. Someone's caught glimpses of a woman with wings made out of bone!

The newest of the recruits has been caring for those imprisoned in the gaol as well as taking up a share of the evening patrols. She may be ugly as sin, but she was polite for such a young girl!

The snowball war has begun! Choose your side, lest you be caught unawares when battle breaks out.
The hyena femme seen often in the town has vanished. She's been gone, so far for three days. There were rumors that she'd been seen entering the Lorewood with a few soldiers. Neither she nor the soldiers have returned if that's the case.

Everything is most unclear. Did the hyena simply take a break?
