Mother: Antigone Fleetwood, Japanese ancestry, born in Acton. Unspeakable/artificer
Father: Ayumu (Dreamwalk) Komaki, Japanese ancestry (presumed Muggle-born), born in Kyoto. Traditional Japanese theater and dance instructor. Named after her father's twin brother, Michikiyo, a legendary Onnagata (actor specializing in female roles). Direct descendant of Miyokichi (Good fortune of the beautiful generation), retired geisha and founder of Aosagenoki (luminous heron) Charm School for Magical Young Ladies.

Michiyo Hecate Komaki grew up the beloved only child of an Unspeakable and an acting professor. Her birth had been prophesied by the founder of an exclusive primary school for young witches. Mi-chan's wand was made for her by her legendary great grandmother shortly before her passing. Miyokichi, a famous geisha in her time, created the wand using a slip of branch from the oldest and rarest cherry tree in the land. The core, a precious dragon heartstring, was given her by a priestess dedicated to Toyo-hime, the legendary Luminous Pearl Princess, an ancient dragon rumored to be related to Japan's ruling family. The young witch grew up learning tales of her famous relative and hoped one day to be as famous a geisha. The family spent many happy years traveling between the homes in Acton's Japanese quarter and the hanamachi where her father's family hailed.

Part of Mi-chan's formal training prior to Hogwarts was at her great-grandmother's school, known throughout Japan for training geisha skilled both in magical and mundane arts. Upon her graduation from this school, Mi-chan was surprised to receive a letter from Hogwarts. Antigone regaled the future Slytherin girl with stories of her own adventures (including her crush on the legendary Slytherin Headmaster, Professor Severus Snape). Being a romantic at heart (as well as a geisha in training), the young Michiyo absorbed these stories like a sponge much to the amusement of Ayumu.

Magic's first blossom: The young Mi-chan was very skilled in playing the shamisen and was also a promising dancer. At the tender age of five years, she was certain she was going to dance in festival (even though her parents said she was still a bit young yet...). The dedicated youngster decided that, since she couldn't enlist the aid of a family member, she'd just do everything herself. Her family was therefore quite surprised to see the girl dancing to music from a shamisen that was playing itself! As Mi-chan grew in strength and skill, she could animate up to four instruments by the time she received her Hogwarts letter.

Year 1 (Shikomi-the hopeful one): In her first year, Mi-chan, used to strenuous training, dedicated herself to immersion in the English style of magic. Even though her mother was born in Acton, the Fleetwood-Komaki household differed in style of magic use. She picked up the unfamiliar terms and skills easily.

Year 2(Minarai-the observant one): In second year, Mi-chan became the silent observer. Keeping up with her rapid accumulation of knowledge, she began to watch those senior to her--mannerisms, behavioral patterns, the dance...

Year 3(Jr. Maiko-learning to dance): In third year, Mi-chan began to instruct those younger than herself, passing her knowledge (which was considerable in its own right) to anyone else with the desire to learn.
Year 4(Sr. Maiko-teaching the dance): Mi-chan's fourth year saw her sharing the teachings of her famous great grandmother. It wasn't uncommon to see a collection of young ladies learning the arts of tea ceremony and traditional dance alongside their wizarding culture and etiquette classes.

Year 5 (Jr.Geisha-learning the art): Fifth year begins with Mi-chan thinking of her own future. She is torn between wanting to continue in her great grandmother's footsteps and working alongside her parents in their own ventures. Ultimately, the young geisha must decide on her own to forge her own path. In doing so, she inspires others.
