I've been roleplaying since I was 13 and, well, let's just say I'm an old fart now haha. The main types of RP I enjoy are Fanfiction & Fantasy (original or otherwise), I'm also a fan of Sci-fantasy and Sci-fi. i.e. shows, books & video games. I'm just getting out of a six month long writer's block. I spent playing a lot of that time D&D during the pandemic, which rekindled my love for original fantasy and sci-fi, so I'm looking forward to making new friends and writing again.

Mai was startled awake by the sound of rolling thunder, face down in a puddle of water. Rain splashed and soaked her to the bone. She shivered, slowly pushing herself up on her knees with a groan. Everything hurt.

Her Head throbbing, pain reverberated through her skull, down her neck, and spine. She spat, wiped the dirt from her mouth, and wrapped her arms around her torso for what little warmth she could get. It wasn’t much.

She raised a trembling hand, bruised fingers clutching her head, hoping and failing to ease the shocks of red-hot pain. Dry blood stuck to her forehead, and the rain ran red rivulets down her face. She tried to clean it off, furiously rubbing at it with her fingers. Cuts and bruises lingered generously, painting a gruesome galaxy on already purple skin. What happened? Where was she?

Taking a look around, she found herself between two tall buildings of metal and glass. At the very end, traffic blurred past. Horns, sirens, engines burning fuel. A motley crew of creatures of various sizes and colors, humanoid and otherwise, moved in a hurry.

A city. A real city. A place she had ever only read about and seen in pictures. The colony was hardly big enough to be considered a small town, and the villages had been even smaller than that.

Now, the sights, colors, and sounds of the big city threatened to overwhelm her senses entirely.

What the hell was she gonna do now?
