I've been RPing in forums on and off for the past 13 years or so. I typically write scifi, but like superheroes and fantasy, too. I'm definitely more into Marvel superheroes than DC. Nothing against DC, but I just haven't had the time to get into the fandom. I have varied tastes when it comes to RP styles, but if you want to write anything mature, please be at least over the age of 20, with your age posted on your profile. Not that I don't believe you, I just need to cover my butt in case something leaks and my career is on the line.
My collaboration with my RP partners over the years encouraged me to pursue a career in the written word. I'm currently an English professor at my local university, where I teach Freshmen Composition; my classroom follows the New Model, however, and focuses on placing the power in the hands of the students. So don't worry about me being a grammar nazi, because that's against my personal philosophy. I do ask my partners to use punctuation, however, because I have a difficult time reading, and punctuation gives me "anchors" in the text.
Due to the fact I teach full time, I may not be on during the day and some evenings. But I will let my individual RP partners know my semester schedules as I receive them.
My longest RP took about 5 years to complete and is now posted on Fanfiction.net as a 70+ chapter fan-novel that will ultimately be part of a series. If you would like to read it, drop me a PM and I can send you a link.
