About Me

Hey, I'm Typo.

I'm a long-time RPer, though I'm a little rusty from a few years of being semi-inactive. Fantasy RPs are definitely my bread-and-butter setting, though I'll definitely dip my toe into other genres to keep things feeling lively. Currently, group RPs are the most appealing to me, and I'm not really looking for 1x1s.

I'm a freelance illustrator, and do my best to keep semi-regular working hours. I'm mostly unavailable weekdays 9-5, occasionally odd evenings with other things going on. There's a degree of patience I expect from people, and I will always return the favor. RPing is a hobby, after all. I don't expect anyone to be available 24/7.

RP Do's and Don't's

I have a couple of preferences and rules for interacting with people around roleplays. Please respect my boundaries, and I'll respect yours :>
  • No minors, I prefer to be in groups with people 21+, but will be a little more lenient with this in groups.
  • I don't do any sexually explicit writing. Sorry, no shade but I'm a little past my enjoyment years on that front! Implied scenarios are fine, but I'd rather 'fade to black', possibly discuss some details OOC if it's super important to the plot.
  • The same goes for excessive gore. Not my thing.

  • I like a post I can sink my teeth into, but I also have ADHD, and giant walls of texts cause my brain to make dial-up modem noises. My personal comfort zone for writing is around 3-5 paragraphs.
  • I don't like romance-centric plots. Don't get me wrong, I am a sucker for some good romantic tension, but I don't like it when pairing characters up is the end goal.
  • Possibly the most important, I love a good, active OOC chat! I've found that having a good line of communication to other people in a RP is often the make or break situation for if the story gets anywhere of if its dead in the water.

About My Characters

I have a lot of long-standing characters that have evolved through the years. While I love playing them, I'm just as likely to make up a new character if I'm feeling really inspired for a certain scenario or plot. There are a few things that are pretty consistent over all of my characters.
  • In general, I try to keep my characters backstories malleable. They'll have the broad strokes or general plotline/plot hook in place, but it's much easier to make an RP work, especially a group RP, if I'm free to change and alter backstories to work into the world and other characters' storylines better.
  • On a similar note, I consider each new RP to be a new iteration of my characters. I rarely carry over entire plotlines or events from one RP to another. Small pieces might come along if I really like how it fits into that character's arc or development, but I think of each RP as being self-contained (unless being written as an actual sequel).
  • The last note on that front, please don't be mad if romance happens with the same character in multiple RPs.
  • In general, I consider my characters to be "pansexual until proven otherwise". If we're RPing, don't hesitate to propose some sort of relationship between our characters, regardless of gender :).
  • I like playing side characters. Expect me to throw random minor characters into the mix when needed.
