Riswald (played anonymously)

Riswald was dimly aware of the ork that raised its weapon over his head, casting a great shadow down upon him. Well, this is it ... I suppose I had a good run, however short it was ... Suddenly, the ork was yanked backwards as if it had a noose around its neck. The human blinked a few times and straightened up, trying to rub the fog out of his eyes. The creatures were reforming into something bigger, something more dangerous ... and a target far easier to hit. The shattering of the nearby cottage brought some sense to the rapscallion, and that combined with Garlade's prodding urged him to nock another bolt in his crossbow. In a strange turn of events, Rizz stared up at the ogre barreling towards them ... and actually ran forward in an attempt to meet it halfway. Though he certainly didn't intend to engage it head on. He dropped to his knees in the mud once the ogre was almost upon him, in an attempt to slide between its legs and shoot the crossbow up between them, point blank. Hopefully at the very least he would hit the tail!

rolled 1d20 and got 12

The massive beast took the bolt between the legs. Nothing was there but the fleshy substance it was made of. It pierced the skin and left it stomping angrily. The tail swinging wildly bit missing its target of the archer. As Riswald got back it turned and listed one of the poor victims of the town. The mummified body was thrown barely missing Riswald as the creature charged. Melstrum was quiet aware it would kill but then his attention was regained by a strong aura.
"I forgot about you." He said nervously looking up. Barreling across the sky was a glowing beam of light. The mage on his magic steed collided with the barrier and after a second of sparks the massive dome shattered. Melstrums eyes where wide with a mix of anger, fear and hunger. As the barrier was shattered the seals around town began to spark before their glow faded. The dome shattered and fell as magical shard with no physical respect they faded. The Ogre looked up and the mage did a loop before slamming directly into the chest of the Ogre. Like a massive energy bolt he burst through before the beast could launch the killing blow on Riswald. The Ogre fell back but before hitting the ground decayed into the magical energy that formed it and blood. Standing tall was the great mage which broke the spell and killed the demon. He was clean despite what just happened and raising his hand he said some words.
"Now dispel!" He says in a strong voice as the faint blue glow on his hand is thrown into the ground. A magical shook wave flies through the ground. Hitting the main seal in the center and shattering the rune. The whole curse was broken and the town freed. He looked towards Melstrum and raised his silver cane. "Blood Sorcerer. You've committed a heinous act and shall be judged accordingly." He said with a look of pure determination and a wanting to serve justice. Melstrum weakly held his scepter as he regained his composure. He looked around seeing everything ruined. He couldn't harvest here anymore. As well as being out classed he was out numbered. He looked around eagerly for a way out.
Garlade had panic in his eyes as the ogre trampled nearly everything in sight. The bolt had made no difference in his momentum, and if anything, it had angered it even more! Garlade began to try and find cover, seeing how obvious it was that he couldn't take this beast on, when suddenly, there was a little flurry of blue sparks overhead. A man on a flying horse was doing something to the barrier! He watched in awe as the angelic savior descended and destroyed the barrier, followed soon by the ogre. The town was beginning to look normal again as there was a blue energy building up in his hand. A sudden shockwave had Garlade reaching for something to regain his balance on. He watched, intrigued, as his new savior approached the man that had started it all. He began to advance as well, curious to see what punishment was awaiting this villain.

Melstrum looked over all his options. With the high mage in front and the Dwarf behind him he was surely in the best position. But to the left was possible salvation. The weakened man, Riswald stumbled up fairly drained from the spell. Melstrum let his eyes move between everything as he smirked. The mage caught notice of this. He saw his smirk and was at the ready to counter his attack.
"I shall be judged." Melstrum says. "But hardly convicted!" He says with a wide grin as his scepter glows and he fires two bolts of magic. Each bolt looked like a glowing red bit of lightning and one shot to the mage while the other to Riswald. The mage quickly and with little trouble countered the spell heading for him but needed to act quickly to save the tired Riswald. From his hands which started glowing a blue he fired a rapid mist which hit the bolt and caused it to shrink but before it shrunk and faded to nothing it impacted Riswald in his right shoulder. The rouge flew backwards and was hit with the sudden pain and exhaustion he passed out. The would on his arm seemed to equal a shiv with a small blade. Melstrum laughed as a dark portal looking of a black and grey vortex with some red highlights opened and he jumped backwards into. His laughter faded as the portal closed and he managed to escape with his distraction. The mage bit his lip and clenched his fist as he ran up to Riswald who laid unconscious on the ground.
