This epidemic is spreading worldwide in hospitals of all kinds, and WHO has declared it a global crisis..."

"The first reports of the affliction affecting cancer patients has now been observed in the normal population...many sources claim that it is mutating too fast for scientists to be able to develop a solution. Any form of bodily fluid contact with an infected individual has been shown to be enough to cause infection in the average healthy adult...with symptoms similar to the Rabies virus, this so called 'disease' inflicts heavy neurological damage to the amygdala and the cerebral cortex. It is unknown if infected individuals are aware of what is happening to them, or if they have entered an aggressive episode that prevents rational thinking."

Greetings! As you can likely tell, this is an interest check in a 3-4 player RP of an apocalyptic epidemic that takes place in modern times with inspiration from sources such as 28 Days Later and Dead Space. After a cure for cancer went wrong, society was plagued by a rapidly spreading and mutating disease that caused afflicted individuals to lose all conscious thought and experience severe aggression. Our story follows that of a group of survivors trying to make it to the North after a radio broadcast rumors Sanctuary to be found within the further reaches of Canada. Along their way, they will experience a tumultuous journey, and it is certain that not all of them will make it...

This will feature progressive difficulty for as the time between initial infection and current day increases, the disease mutates in order to adapt to a lesser amount of available hosts - in other words, infected individuals become more grotesque and mutated so that infectivity is increased. Certain random events will be decided by dice roll to determine the outcome, but your character will never die due to a bad dice roll. At worst, they will be injured or lose important items.

It's recommended that each player plays more than one character for sake of realistic experiences - not everyone will make it to the end. Characters will die, and will be left behind. New characters will be discovered along the way, and relationships will be formed and broken.

This is a collaborative experience - think of it as a campaign, really. While I will be playing characters, I will also be taking the role of a 'DM' on. This means that I will be taking head charge of the story line and will be introducing important events and random encounters to maximize your enjoyment, but I will also listen to your input for what you want. If you're itching for something to happen, let me know! We're all in this together, as cheesy as that sounds.

I am looking for preferably novella writers, but I will suffice with 4-5 paragraphs at least. Players will be expected to post at least once every week-and-a-half, and if non-committal behavior becomes a problem, you will be dropped and replaced. OOC drama will not be tolerated, so let's try to get along here.

Kind of reminds me a bit of the plot from I am Legend as well with it starting as a cure for cancer gone wrong.

that'd be one of the inspirations! as a fine connoisseur™ of all things 'zombie' related, i've just about read and/or watched every classic you can think of, lol. there were many different literary inspirations i drew from for this!
