Lockroach
Hey guys, how's it going?
I'm not shy about my real life and have no issues sharing my name or pictures online, but it doesn't really seem appropriate to do that on a website that's all about taking on a different persona, you know? But hey, I'll give you a vague outline of the person that is Lockroach and if you want to know anything further then you can just ask!
- I'm British
- I have the best girlfriend that you could ask for
- I love to travel and I'm learning a second language
- I like doing outdoor stuff too, especially cycling, hiking and camping
- I will shower you in photographs of my pets at the slightest encouragement
- I'm a bad cook. Truly, I can't stress that enough.
- I'm not very effusive and I've heard that I can appear aloof - but if that's the case, then it is totally unintentional. I love meeting new people, even if I apparently suck at showing it
- Honesty! There's too much passive aggressive nonsense in the world. If I have a problem with you then I will tell you about it. If I don't tell you about it, then you can assume that we're all good
- Like everyone, I've gone through rough patches and I think they've made me a more empathetic and patient person. If you wanna chat to some random stranger on the internet, then consider my inbox open for whatever craziness is going on in your life
Okay, so that's the cringey real life stuff out of the way, now we can move on to the reason that we're all here: RP!
I think the best way to sum up my RP preferences is that I'm open to most genres and I'm not an elitist in terms of technical ability or anything like that. However, I do like for people to make an effort when playing with me. I'm a fan of mature themes, gritty storylines and I love the horror genre, but I don't limit myself to these things.
In terms of the characters that I will play - I don't really project much of myself into the characters. I'm more of a 'character actor', if that makes sense? I like to imagine them as separate entities and just write them according to their own personalities. Therefore, I'm fine with playing characters of either gender and even those whose sexuality does not align with my own. But I know that some people feel uncomfortable with that kind of thing, so I'm just giving you a heads up.
Speaking of sexuality: NSFW content! I don't use this site for sexual gratification but I am totally okay with writing NSFW stuff, provided that it makes sense in the context of the story. If I think that my character would be 'down to bang' then I'll play it out, but it's not something that I seek out. But hey, if it ever reaches that point then we'll probably be speaking in PMs, anyway.
I love to use OOC communication to organise and plot things for the RP. I don't know what else there is to say on this point.. I just think it's a good idea and that it makes things flows better. A+
Side note: My personal philosophy is that a story is only as strong as its antagonist and I dislike weak, incompetent villains. It defeats all form of dramatic tension when the hero's victory is an obvious and foregone conclusion. So for that reason, I'm very happy to play bad guys where needed.

I've been rping privately with Locky for some time now and I can confidently say that he's up there with the best writers I've ever played with. His intelligence and wit obviously lend themselves to excellent writing, but what most impresses me about him is his incredible creativity, which shines through everything he does. His character creation and characterization skills! His world building and narratives! I am so awed by and downright jealous of his skills!

Funny to say, but I met Lock back during a group RP where they had some genuine questions about my characters. Next thing we knew it, we were B.S.ing and plotting, and theory crafting some of our next ideas with each other while having fun in the group still. A true person who is not afraid to speak their mind, and have amazingly intellectual conversations with! Get some RP going with this one, or you're missing out! Cheers, Lock!
