Hello, my name is Derrick, but most people call me Dirk.
The RPer:
I have been RPing for almost 11 years now. Most of which is in the form of forum-based RP. Over the last five or so years, I have expanded that to include White Wolf tabletop, particularly Demon: The Fallen and RPing within MMOs, like Elder Scrolls Online. I have been dormant from RP for a good portion of the last two years, but I have returned!
With forum RP, I prefer 1x1 or--occasionally--a 3-person RP with adjustable length posts. I mostly RP male characters, but I don't mind the occasional dominant female character.
I used to be really into futuristic sci-fi, but I've been fascinated by fantasy as of late. I like characters with powers, are supernatural, or possess futuristic, technology-based abilities. I like making up new worlds, but I do Earth-based if setting isn't really important to the prompt.
I am comfortable with LGBTQ+ characters and prefer the inclusion of adult themes. With that said, I mainly RP through PM.
The Man behind the RP:
I'm a 22-year-old graduate student from and currently residing in the Northeastern United States. I consider myself a postmodernist, feminist, and Anarcho-Communist. I have a two Bachelor's degrees and one Master's degree, and I am currently working on my second Master's degree:
-BA in Cultural Studies (2015)
-BS in Sociology (2015)
-MS in Cultural Anthropology (2016)
-MS in Economy (forthcoming 2018)
In my free time, I play video games, binge-watch TV shows, read books, and write fiction. I also volunteer my time to organizations or projects I believe in. Currently, I'm writing a grant for one organization who is trying to start a literacy center. I'm working with another to overhaul their website. And, I'm working with a third as a foster for underage, under-socialized, or unhealthy kittens without moms.
Currently, I'm playing through Mass Effect: Andromeda, and I'm mostly happy with it. The last TV series I watched was Wynonna Earp, which I enjoyed more than I thought I would. And, the last book I read for fun was Capital Vol. 1 by Karl Marx. Last books I read for college were the newly updated Servants of Globalization by Parrenas and Public Policy Praxis.
