WhimsicalWaste

Hi there!

I go by WhimsicalWaste for internet things, but if we get to know each other I'll probably share my actual name with you.

I have been roleplaying since 5th grade and it is easily one of my favorite hobbies. I love writing and coming up with characters to gush over and antagonize. I joined RPR back in 2019 and it quickly has become my home for writing. I don't mind writing through discord from time to time, but my preference is through private messaging on here. My other hobbies include gaming (PC and Switch), anime watching, and crafting.

I have lots of pets, some of which include a blue throated macaw named Finch (my profile pic) an umbrella cockatoo named Precious, and an orange winged Amazon named Tango. I also have a shire horse named Lila and a handful of ducks, geese, turkeys, and chickens.

I currently live on my parents' hobby farm in order to help them manage their animals, which has been challenging but a challenge that I greatly enjoy. I'm very passionate about animals of all types and if given the chance will ramble on about animal facts for hours.

What I look for in a roleplay partner:

Ideally I look for people who have styles similar to mine. I'll include an example below of what a typical response from me looks like from a past roleplay to help with that, but basically I love long replies and hope for partners that love them as well. Obviously the length of the reply is dependent upon what's happening in a roleplay, but I try to keep my replies between 3-6 paragraphs each. Sometimes longer if I want to pack the detail in but never shorter than 3. I like my partners to have that same standard. I don't mind if you don't want to match the length every reply, but please give me at least 3 paragraphs a reply so I have something to work with in my own reply.

I tend to get on daily, but I know not everyone has a schedule that allows for that, especially when it comes to longer responses like I prefer, so as long as I get at least one reply a week I'm typically happy. More is great, of course, but I don't mind being patient for responses. I've even waited up to 6 months for a reply with past partners and still had just as much interest in the roleplay, but I do appreciate a heads up in OOC chat if there's going to be a while between replies, just so I don't feel like I've been ghosted.

That brings me to my next topic, please don't ghost me. There's nothing more discouraging than being into a roleplay and then being ghosted and not being sure if it's something I've done wrong and it just generally sucks. I've had people up and delete their entire accounts without warning in the past and I'm not gonna lie, when you've been roleplaying with someone for months and established a friendship with them and suddenly they're just gone, it hurts. If you decide you don't want to continue our roleplay, that's totally fine. Letting me know is appreciated. I might ask if there's something you'd like us to change in order to continue interest on your end, and I'm always open to feedback if there's something about my writing that you don't vibe with because I'm always looking to improve as a writer, but I won't get angry at you for wanting to end our roleplay and there will be no hard feelings.

Also, as far as grammar and punctuation goes, I do ask you to put in effort and I look for quality writing, but no one's perfect. I certainly am not and I don't expect you to be either. I am pretty firm on only writing in the 3rd person with other's who write in the 3rd person. I don't mind 2nd person on occasion, but tend to avoid it because I'm not a huge fan of self insertion in roleplays, and I refuse to write with anyone in 1st person.

Finally, the biggest thing is communication. I don't expect us to constantly have OOC conversations going, but it's nice to be friendly with partners and have some sort of dialogue open. Even if it's just a separate DM for plot planning, that's fantastic. I've found that my longest running roleplays have been with people that I feel like I'm friends with because we chat OOC.

I think that's about it. I only write with people who are above the age of 18 because most of my roleplays have mature themes. If you have any questions about anything here, feel free to ask!

Writing example:

Endar's gaze saddens when Atlas thanks him, only able to think of the terrible things the other male had been through because of him. His fingers tighten softly around the other's. "I'm not deserving of your gratitude. It's my fault you ended up in this mess. That you were held captive and hurt. It was your scent on my body that let my father know of your presence... Meeting me is perhaps the worst thing that's ever happened to you, Atlas. You deserved far better." His voice comes out in a pained whisper. "I'm so sorry."

He can't deny his feelings for the male standing in front of him. He would make him his in a heartbeat if not for the heavy guilt he carries with him. Perhaps if his father had never gotten involved they would have met again and he could have courted Atlas properly. That's not how this went, though. His father did get involved. He discovered and hurt the other. All because of Endar's own carelessness. He doesn't deserve the affection that Atlas shows him. He doesn't deserve the pleasure of feeling the brunette's hand in his own or the comfort of him at his side.

His eyes fall back on the two sleeping boys, reaching out to lightly brush his fingers through Nils' hair. It kills him seeing the boy in this condition. He isn't sure what will happen from here, either. Surely they can't stay with Jair forever. Once everyone is healed they'll have to figure things out. There's no open territory for a long ways either, so they'll either have a long and risky journey ahead of them. That, or Endar will have to face either his own father, or the alpha to Atlas' old pack. None of the options sound very appealing, but what other option do they have?
