From the Greek word meaning "glory," a kudos is acclaim for exceptional achievement or qualities.
On the RP repository, receiving a kudos means that another community member recommends you as someone other people might like to get to know. Perhaps because you are exceptionally fun to RP with, exceptionally fun to know, or are just plain exceptional!

Scarlet has some wonderful and unique ideas and the thread we are writing together is amazing and so much fun. They do a wonderful job at an inner monologue and helping the reader get a real feel for what their characters are thinking and feeling. I recommend them to everyone. - TroyLocke

Scarlet is certainly an interesting individual. I wouldn't say our tastes in RP align exactly, but it's given me the opportunity to try new things normally out of my comfort zone.
