From the Greek word meaning "glory," a kudos is acclaim for exceptional achievement or qualities.
On the RP repository, receiving a kudos means that another community member recommends you as someone other people might like to get to know. Perhaps because you are exceptionally fun to RP with, exceptionally fun to know, or are just plain exceptional!

I am a terrible soul sister because I haven't given this woman crazy praise in forever. Let me tell you, she deserves it. Outside of the brilliant detail and effort that this individual puts into her character backgrounds, she is a hard-working person out-of-character and excellent friend. I regret that I do not have more time to actively RP with them, but where I fail, you should take advantage! Unlikelynominee is someone I've had the privilege to RP with many times over the past few years. In addition to being an excellent RPer who brings out a depth in her characters that can be sorely lacking in some. In addition, she really is one of the best people I've had the pleasure of meeting on Furcadia. Well, she's just plain beautiful, ain't she? Quite genuinely one of the most subtly eloquent writers I've had the opportunity to roleplay with, and she always manages to convey her bright, warm personality through your screen. Poke her. She might squeak, but you won't regret it.
