From the Greek word meaning "glory," a kudos is acclaim for exceptional achievement or qualities.
On the RP repository, receiving a kudos means that another community member recommends you as someone other people might like to get to know. Perhaps because you are exceptionally fun to RP with, exceptionally fun to know, or are just plain exceptional!

What an awesome person to RP with! Even in the most mundane setting, like grocery shopping, he manages to keep it light and refreshing. Nothing is forced, and for that I'm very happy. I'll definitely seek him out to rp often!

I've really enjoyed RPing with Nate. His posts, in the right context, are often filled with the perfect diction and a touch of humor, which I can't help but to love.
