My Bully Comes to Kidnap Me
I stood in complete darkness. A boy appeared beside me, he looked familiar but I didn't know who. A man in front of me and the boy stood eight feet away, he started clapping slowly. The boy handed me a gun and said, "Shoot him." I gazed back to the boy.
"Why?" I asked. I heaved a sigh and looked back at the man. Everything was happening so fast.
The man stopped clapping. "What a surprise." The man said.
I raised the gun and pointed it at him. "Who are you?" I asked.
He shrugged. "Why does it matter?" He said as I blinked and he was gone. I turned to see him with a dagger and a crazy murderous smile on his face. "Bye little girl." And before he killed me I woke up, in a soaked pillow of sweat, and my mother yelling my name.
"Amaya get up! You’re going to be late again!" I sighed and lolled my head to my left. I sat up and heard shuffling from outside of my room. The door opened and my big brother James peeked his head in.
"Time to get up Amaya." James said. I stood and walked to the door
"Yeah okay." I replied and closed the door after James left. I took off my night gown and put on a dark green T-shirt, a pair of dark blue skinny jeans, and navy blue sneakers. I curled my hair and grabbed my bag and went downstairs as my bag of lunch sat on the table. Mom kissed James and my little brother Max on the forehead and they said their byes as their busses came to pick them up. I grabbed my lunch bag and kissed my dad bye and my mom held both of my hand and gave me a worried look. It made me wonder because mom never gave me that look. She kissed my cheek and said, "Bye darling." She looked at me like I was just seven again.
"Bye mom." I kissed her cheek back and ran outside as I waited for my bus to come. I checked my big batman watch as the time read: 7:30 my bus should have been here by now. The bus finally arrived and stopped beside me. The doors opened and I hopped on the bus. I saw waving near the back of the bus and I saw my best friend Martin. We'd known each other since 2nd grade. I walked to his seat as he took his back pack off of the seat.
"Have you seen Andrew yet?" I asked him in a low whisper as I sat down beside him and the bus started to move.
"No." He replied. "I heard that he was sent to a boarding school though." He held a hand up for a high five with a smirk on his face. We high fived. If Andrew wasn’t at school, I and Martin could be free from bullies today!
#
I reached my locker and opened it I took my books out of it. Martin's was next to mine and Chase Brumby’s was next to Martin's. Chase Burnaby was the most annoying boy in school. He even tried to ask me out on a date... The sound of my locker being slammed shut dragged me from my thoughts and I turned to see Andrew. He wore a dark red uniform with a black tie and pants.
"What?! I thought you were sent to boarding school." I complained. He stared at me in silent.
He rolled his eyes. "We need to talk." Andrew said. I held back my hair in case Andrew would cut my hair like last year.
"Okay..." I replied as I let go of my hair and in an instant Andrew grabbed my wrist and dragged me near the janitors’ office.
Andrew turned back to me and looked at me for a moment. I heaved a sigh and crossed my arms.
"So what are we going to talk about? You wanted to talk to me, didn’t you?" I said.
He shrugged. "Your dad works at the boarding school." Andrew said.
"Yeah, so?" I asked. He sighed and rolled his left sleeve up and there was a strange symbol on his forearm. It almost looked like it said something in a different language, which was strange.

It looked like it was burnt into his skin. The letters started getting blurry and they started clearing up more and as I looked at it closer it began to say: Darkrym. My eyes widened and I backed away.
“T-The letters!” I exclaimed. “They were blurry then changed!” Andrew blinked and stared at me, as his jaw hung down his eyebrow twitched. I was freaking out. I tried to think of things that’d help me calm down. I tried thinking of football and our team that lost the super bowl and it didn’t seem to work. The Janitor came from the other way from the hall. I panicked. Andrew snapped back to reality and noticed the janitor looked at us two. Bingo! An idea came to my head and I pulled his sleeve back down and slapped his arm. Andrew looked at me and crossed his arms.
“So as I was saying, Brenda just took ‘em and ran!” I said.
The janitor shook his head and took his keys off of his belt and he unlocked his door and opened it.
“Girls in ‘em shoes. What’s up with that?” Asked the Janitor. I smirked. I scoffed and flipped my hair.
After he got his cart of cleaning stuff the janitor left. I sighed.
“So you could see the letters change?” Andrew asked. I nodded.
“It was all blurry at first but then it changed and,” I paused for a moment and rubbed my face and groaned. It was a lot to take in for what Andrew was telling me. “It said Darkrym.” Andrew turned to me.
“What?” asked Andrew? I shrugged as I felt like someone was watching us. I shuddered
“Darkrym.” I said. Andrew grabbed my wrist and pulled my jacket sleeve up. He checked my other arm.
“I . . . I guess I can still bring you to the there.” He said. I pulled my sleeves down. I shrugged.
“You don’t have to take me there. I got homework anyway.” I replied.
Andrew shook his head. “Lier.” He said. I looked up at him in the eyes.
“How’d you know I lied?” I asked. Andrew squinted his eyes for a second and then stared at me. It started to creep me out as he just stood there staring at me.
“Stop staring at me!” I said. He moved my hair from my shoulder and he covered his mouth.

He took his hand away from his mouth. “I guess I can bring you to there.”
“What? Where? Where is ‘there’?” I asked.
“The Crimson Academy.” And unfamiliar female voice said. I turned my head to see a girl that was tall.
She cleared her throat. “Sorry. My name is Jenna.” She held out her hand. I shook it. I saw people entering the school and people were checking people’s arms and stuff. It was a search for someone.
Andrew sighed. “Jenna. She’s a scythen.” He said. Jenna’s eyes widened as her eyes were on me. Martin approached beside Jenna. She grabbed my hand and started dragging me over to the exit. People were taking other students to the exit too. Jenna stopped and let me go and walked over to a boy and she was talking to him. Jenna walked back to me, as the boy walked to the middle and said, “All clear!” Jenna grabbed my hand and we continued to exit. I heard yelling and it was one of my teachers. Mr. Gormery was yelling.
“Hey! Those are my students! Get back here!” Mr. Gormery stood there as Jenna stopped.
“I’m sick of teachers telling me what to do.” Jenna turned around and pointed a gun at him. She pulled the trigger, then Mr. Gormery slumped to the ground. I panicked. I began pulling back at Jenna’s grip.
“Let me go!” I yelled. I began slapping at her hand and pulling back. Andrew and Martin were who knows where.
Jenna gripped tighter. She turned to me in anger.
“I thought you’d behave better than this Amaya!” She yelled. Anger shot back through me.
“You killed my teacher!” I yelled back at her. She knocked me to the ground and then walked over to a boy and he was the same one that was in the school. Jenna walked away as the boy approached me as I stood, he had a syringe, squeezing some of the weird stuff out of it like on some scary movie. The boy held onto my arm and injected it into my arm. I began to worry, I felt dizzy as I slumped to the ground and darkness took over me

I woke up in a dim room. I sat up, my head throbbing. A glass of water sat on the end table with two Advil beside it. I swung my legs over the side of the bed and turned on the lamp. I saw a note lying beside the lamp. I took it and began to read.
Dear Amaya,
Sorry about earlier. Your teacher isn’t dead, Jenna just shot him with a sleeping dart that’s all. So down to business. I’m having Aaron take you to the showers to get cleaned up and then go to the chief’s office. Then you can go to the cafeteria to get something to eat. Then I’ll go and take you to training. And make sure you take the two Advil, it’ll help with the headache. See you till then.
-Andrew
I took the two Advil and swallowed them with the water. I looked over and saw some clothes at the end of the bed, taking the clothes I stood and walked for the door. I still felt a little dizzy from whatever the boy gave me. I took hold of the door knob as a shadow emerged from the window. I let go as the door opened. I jerked back as a boy was in view. He had brown curly hair he had the same looking clothes on as Andrew had. He was mixed like Andrew.
“Hi, you must be Amaya, am I right?” he asked. “I’m Aaron.”
“I’m Amaya.” I said. He held the door open wide. He gestured for me to come outside of the room. I walked out as the place was crowded with people. Aaron began to lead me across the crowd of people. I could hear a big roar from way over the distance in some hall. I could hear people cheering. I jogged to catch up with Aaron, when I caught up with him he was heading down the hall where the cheering was happening. Aaron was heading down to another hall as we were approaching behind a brick looking wall.
“So what’s this place? I thought it was a boarding school for troublesome kids.” I said. Aaron was walking with his hands on his head.
“This is Crimson Academy.” Aaron replied. “Though this place for non-symbol people, the sign on the front yard says that it’s Gardens Academy.”
“This was the place Andrew was talking about. Speaking of Andrew, where is he?” I asked. He shrugged as we kept on walking.
“Probably back down in training hall.” He retorted.
The rest of the way to the showers was quiet. When we arrived to the showers, the sound of water running, Aaron stopped and turned around.
“See you later.” I said. Aaron nodded and walked off. I entered the showers as the bath water stopped running. Jenna stood beside a water filled bath. She set down a cup on a little table beside the water filled bath. Jenna looked at me as she waved and smiled. I walked over as a smile crept its way on my face.
“Hey Jenna.” I said.
“Hi. I got some water ready for you.” She said. “I also got you a cup of hot chocolate.” I placed my clothes down and took the pony out of my hair.
“Thanks.” I said. Jenna nodded. She stood there like she was trying to remember something.
“Oh, I’ll be helping you with training after you see chief and go get something to eat.” She said. “I’ll leave you alone now. Bye.” After the door clicked shut she was gone. I soon got into the bath which was nice and relaxing.

When I finished drying my hair I was in my new clothes, I wore a red headband to go with as I saw Martin quite a distance away. Our eyes met and he waved, I waved back. I saw Aaron over a ways as Martin approached him as he was walking towards the sign that said ‘Chief’s Hall’ I caught up with Martin and Aaron as we were walking to the Chief’s office. Aaron was walking with his hands behind his back.
Martin was walking beside me as my stomach growled. “Hungry?” He asked.
I shrugged. “Just a little. After we see ‘Chief’ Aaron’s going to escort me to the cafeteria. Want to come?”
“Sure. I’m famished.” He replied. We were quiet the rest of the way. Quickly we approached the Chief’s office and Aaron opened the door. We walked in casually, well except for me. I tripped over myself and fell. Martin helped me up. We sat down and Chief turned around. He looked about in his 40’s but not anything like my dad. He had brown eyes grey hairs in his hair, some of his hair was brown. Aaron stood outside guarding the door, I think. I brushed the dirt off of my skirt.
“Next time you fall I’ll make you clean the floor.” He paused for a moment eyes on me. Then he blurted out laughing.
I chuckled nervously. Martin wasn’t laughing. He stopped laughing after I stopped. He held a hand out.
“I’m Alexander, you must be Amaya.” He said. I nodded. I shook his hand as I stood. I sat back down as Alexander stood and got a book, it was big. As he walked back to his desk, he plopped it down and dust flew everywhere, we coughed for a moment then the dust cloud was gone. Alexander opened the book as he licked his middle finger to flip some of the pages.
“This is witch history. There’s facts about witches of every each and one of them we fought.” He said. Martin pinched the bridge of his nose as he yawned.
“’We’?” I asked.
“The whole school.” Martin retorted. I mouthed oh as Martin yawned again.
“Why are you tired already? It’s like,” I checked my batman watch as the time read one-twenty. “One-twenty. Going on one-twenty-one.”
“I just need a power nap.”
“Mm-hmm” I arched an eye brow. Martin began to snore slightly.
“Aaron!” Alexander called. Aaron opened the door, he came in with a little bucket filled with water. He walked over to Martin and dunked his head in the bucket of water. He took his head out bucket of water and he slapped his cheeks.
“Wake up.” Aaron said, as he took the bucket and left.
Martin sat up his shoulders dripped with water. He took his curly ginger hair out of his face. “I need a serious haircut. I’ll go to the salon later after I eat.”
“Back to business.” Alexander said. “The Witches history goes way back, there is more books in the library though. So you are free to look. How we defeated them way back then was the first person, Carl Calfree, He was the first man who had a symbol, the symbol means that there is a hidden source of power hidden within you, when you develop the power, the symbol appears. People say that his journal is still somewhere in the meadows of his burnt down house but no one could find it because they say he put a spell on it so a wise person. If he or she finds it, they’ll inherit his powers. If you’d read his journal and understand it, you’d be able to kill any witch with what it has inside it. Before his house was burnt down. He fell in love, with a woman who had been cursed by a witch, he tried to lift the curse, but it wouldn’t work. His wife died because of the curse and casted the spell and he burnt his house down to leave the horrible memories.” Alexander finished and I was speechless. All I could say was,
“Wow.”
“Mm-hmm” Alexander handed the book to me. I took the book and laced my fingers with the carvings of the book. I opened the book and looked at the picture of his burnt down house. I looked back at Alexander.
“Do you know how he died?” I asked him.
“I think he still lives to this day.” Alexander said.
“But what you just told me was what happened like, almost a million years ago!” I said. Martin patted me on the shoulder.
“Some people have the power to be immortal.” Martin said. I looked at Martin in disbelief. Wasn’t he as clueless as I was? I pushed the thought away.
“Go, I bet you are famished, Aaron will show you the way to the cafeteria.” Alexander said.
“Thank you Alexander.” I said handing the book back to him. Alexander shook his head.
“Keep it. And please, call me Alex.” He said. I smiled as Martin exited I followed.
“C’mon Aaron, let’s go.” I said.
“Where to?” Aaron asked.
“Food…” Martin said as a boy almost ran me over by riding a skate board with rockets.
My heel got caught on something and I tripped, luckily I didn’t land on my face. Yet, my shoe flew off and hit the back of my head. Aaron and Martin caught my arms before my face hit the floor. They helped me up, Martin got my shoe. I took it and put it back on. I realized that I was more of a klutz here than I ever was at school, or at home.
I kept ahold of the book Alexander gave me. We reached the cafeteria and we sat near the TV that had the news on.
“Children have gone missing, one of the teachers in the school saw what happened. Mr. Gormery, what exactly happened earlier today?” The News woman asked him. I watched the TV as Mr. Gormery spoke.
“This girl she said she was sick of something, then she shot me, I don’t know what it was though.” Mr. Gormery said. When I finally got my food and when I finished I left the cafeteria.

Martin and I were walking to Training hall as we were, cheering was happening. I heard a roar like before, as the cheering and roaring got louder my heart was beating like crazy. Martin was by my side whistling.
“Are you nervous?” I asked him. He shook his head.
“No, I’ve been here before,” Martin retorted. I punched him in the arm as we laughed. We reached Training hall and it was big. Two girls walked by, on wit long blonde hair and the other had short curly hair. The one with short curly hair looked at me.
“Oh my gosh! Molly look! She’s a sclythen. I know that symbol from the book I read last night.” The girl said. “You’re so pretty.” I smiled.
“Thank you. I’m Amaya.” I replied
“I’m Molly, this is Kelly my sister.” She said
I shrugged. “Nice to meet you.” Andrew stood behind Kelly.
“Molly, maybe you should go do something else, with Polly.” Andrew said. Molly jumped like a kangaroo. Kelly frowned.
“Hey it’s Kelly not Polly!” She said. Andrew rolled his eyes. He gripped my wrist and dragged me down to the training hall. I almost fell forward but I got my balance after he let go. Molly, Kelly and Martin came to join Jenna in training. I stood there confused. I saw Molly flicking her hands as a bright light shone from them I squinted my eyes. When the light was gone I saw Molly with two gold looking whips. Kelly had two guns in her hands. Jenna was perfectly human then, her skin started to glow her skin got so bright I couldn’t see her. The light was gone and she was a saber tooth. Her fur was gold looking, her eyes were yellow, and she had very big paws.
A dark figure emerged from the shadows as a body appeared. It was Andrew. I walked over there casually as I stood beside Martin. I looked at every each and one of them, and all my mind could say was that this was the coolest thing ever. Quickly battle started and I panicked. Molly rolled over before a shock of darkness hit her. Andrew froze for a moment. He was complete ice. Martin shot a bolt of ice at Kelly. She pulled the trigger and a flaming bullet came out. Molly stood in front of me. A smirk on her face. She flicked one of her whips at me. I panicked but I managed to block by doing a backflip.
“I never knew I could do a backflip!” I stared at Molly. A smile crept on my face. I did another backflip as my hands shone really bright. I looked away closing my eyes. The light was gone A weapon lay in my hands. It was dark red, there was a skull at the top back, and then something strange was happening. Everyone disappeared and an old lady stood in front of me. What was happening? Was I going crazy? The old lady laughed.
“Come here darling, I’ve got a gift for you.” She said. I looked at her strangely.
“Who are you?” I asked her. She smiled and shrugged.
“What does it matter to you Boren?” She asked. I blinked in surprise. How would she know that my last name was Boren? I was clueless, but how’d she know?
“Who are you, and how do you know my last name? What do you want?” I asked her. The old lady chuckled.
“I’m Jaya Mare. I believe I’ve met your father.” She said. My eyes widened and I backed away as she was cackling. She knew my dad Jeffrey Boren, then dad must have had a symbol.
“What are you?” I asked her curiously. Jaya smiled as she held up one finger and pointed at me. Lightning came out of her finger and it blasted me maybe all the way to New Jersey but I was still on my feet. I looked at Jaya.
“I don’t know what you are doing here and why, but I want you to leave me alone!” I held the scythe high in my hands and swung down at the floor. Before I knew it the old lady was gone and a flash jerked me back. The last words I heard from the old lady was:
“Back to Black Lake Road and through the hidden passage and go to Dragon Alley, and you will find your destination, little one.” After that the darkness consumed me.
#
I was standing in the middle of the room. Molly stared at me in disbelief.
“How did you do that?!” She screamed. Jenna wasn’t a saber tooth anymore, Andrew, Martin – Everyone stared at me. Molly covered her mouth. Martin stared me in the eyes.
“How?” Martin blinked a couple times.
I looked at Molly. “Didn’t you see her too?” I looked at Andrew then back to Molly. She shook her head.
“No. But look! You did this!” Molly pointed to the marble floor. It was steaming, and it was cracked. I let out a big gasp and covered my mouth.
“I . . . did that?” I asked. Andrew took my hand and started to the exit of Training hall.
“We need to get you to one of the doctors here.” Andrew said.
“Andrew, I’m fine honestly!” I said. Quickly my head was throbbing, a voice calling my name. It was unfamiliar, I hadn’t noticed until a minute later, I was saying the words out loud.
It stopped and Andrew stood there staring at me. Molly took my wrist.
“I can take her.” She insisted. I rubbed my temple as my headache from earlier was back. And it was worse than before. I lost my balance for a moment but Molly caught hold of my shoulder. Alexander burst into the room looking around. His eyes locked on me like everyone else. Today was not a lucky day for me.
