Gondor (played by BlackRose)

Please read the rules before joining.

Doctors/Scientists/Guards
  • Private message me if you want to be one of the authorities.
  • No unnecessary torture. You may only harm the subjects if they're out of line or if it's purely for research purposes. Anyone caught breaking this rule will be terminated from their job and might have them 'volunteer' as a test subject. Supplies are short!
  • The guard's duty is to make sure no one escapes and put an end to a hurdle if a fight breaks out.
  • Scientists run the tests and record the data of the test subjects.
  • Doctors make sure that test subjects remain alive and preform the surgeries during tests.

Test Subjects
  • You do not need permission to join as a test subject. A number will be given to you by one of the authorities and will be addressed as such.
  • You do not have power over the authority. You are a test subject. We have the technology to keep you under control. So calm down, no one's impressed by how strong you are.
  • You can escape, (or try to) but the RP remains inside the test lab. If you and another person escape together, take the RP somewhere else, please.
  • You may fight another test subject or one of the authorities. Keep in mind that the authority has the advantage.

This Goes For Everyone
  • Absolutely NO killing. Yes, violence is all fine and dandy, but killing off a character (whether they are a PC or someone else's) is no fun.
  • No one may claim to be "the boss" and fire other people. A generic man in a business suit will show up and speak with whomever is in trouble. You may know him as Illusive Man (whoever gets that reference will receive cookies).
  • Have fun.

Test Lab

Middle Ground
This is where the main ground is. Test subjects who are sedated and in the blue level are free to roam here. There are activities, chairs (although not comfortable ones) and a water fountain. The authority may check in and out through this floor. The client behind the desk will always make sure you're in uniform.

Lower Level
This is where the test subjects are held. Each have their own cell and are numbered when they are currently not being tested. They may rest and eat here with the comfort of bullet proof glass containing them within. There is no privacy for them for there are cameras in each cell to monitor the test subjects for their -erm- "safety."

Higher Level
This is where subjects are taken to be tested. If a subject is currently not being tested the higher level is off limits for them. Any authority may roam here as long as they remain on duty and do not disrupt any tests going on. There are sound proof rooms for tests so the screaming--We mean, so the test subjects feel more secure with the given privacy.

Subject Levels
The subject is on good behavior and sedated. They're free to roam the middle ground.
The subject is rather moody and must be monitored at all times until the behavior improves.
Subject is violent, unpredictable and a danger to everyone. Must be kept on lock-down and monitored until behavior improves.

--

"Doctor, why are you not in uniform?" Gondor doesn't bother looking up at the client as he signs himself in through the computer for the possibly next thirty hours. "Doctor, I asked you a ques--"

Gondor cuts him off. "You ask me this every time. Each time I give you the same response. Figure it out." As he speaks, his tone remains tranquil and deep, yet his sharpness still cuts through the client like a scalpel. The client seems effected by this, but soon composes himself. "You have to be in uniform at all times while you're on--"

"Don't care." The doctor turns his back on the man behind the desk and goes to the elevator - only accessed by using a key card. He goes to the higher level and strolls right to his office to find the paperwork left behind by one of the scientists on his desk. Looking through it, Gondor finds that his newly assigned subject is Number 01. He reads through her information before looking through his own assignment. The general procedure for newcomers. Gondor sighs. "Isn't this a scientist's job?" Great, now he has to play the therapist instead of what he got hired here for as a surgeon.

Taking the papers, he goes into the concealed room the subject is being held in. Gondor looks over the papers once more to read the directions, turn on monitor at low settings. He pushes the button and the large screen fills with a picture. Everything is red with series of digital text floating around. In the middle of all that is a woman. Taking the microphone, he sets it in front of him and speaks into it when he holds down the "speak" button. "Subject 01. Can you hear me?"
Vempyremon (played by LadyMalware)

The doctor got no response for the first several minutes. It was absolute silence from within the confined room, except for a series of static and electrical interference. After the first few seconds, though, the white noise died down and resulted in the feminine figure tilting her head towards where she assumed the source of the voice came from. All around. It came from all around the room, and it broke the silence that she had found tranquility in.

Vempyremon emitted a low grumble; far too soft for the sound to resonate on the other side of the monitor. Still no response for the doctor's question. It took a great bit of strength to even want to respond to her captors. Had there not been a room keeping her from the flesh-creatures on the other side...well, a fight would have surely broke out. There were consequences, of course, but at this point, the digital creature could have cared less.

"...Yeah? What?" Finally, a response. It was not exactly a polite or kind set of words, but it was something. "Are you here to let me out, finally? Because...you know, I get kind of claustrophobic." She didnt really. "Things happen when I get claustrophobic." That part was true. It was in her violent nature to attack and strike at those who were the source of her frustration. Sometimes, the violence just happened regardless of who was responsible.

Vempyremon let off a soft smile. Though, with the squint that followed after, it seemed far more menacing than it should have been. "...Would you kindly do this for me? Please?"

As the subject shows no interest in speaking, neither does Gondor. He releases the button and leans back in his chair, idly looking through the papers for more instructions. The doctor doesn't really seem to care to be here. As soon as the subject finally speaks, though, Gondor listens but he doesn't look up. "I don't want to be here any more than you." The tiefling says into the mic. "This isn't even my field, but I was told to speak with you. Subject 01, I'm going to ask you questions and you are going to answer them. If you don't, then I'll give you reason to." His threat sounds empty, uncaring. Releasing the speak button again, he mutters to himself, "This is either prerecorded or it's truly a highly advanced AI." Just thinking aloud to himself, as always. Although, this subject does show a lot of resentment towards him as if it can actually hear and understand him. Did they create this or was it brought here by some computer programmers?
Vempyremon (played by LadyMalware)

Vempyremon was not too fond of the monotonous tone the stranger on the other side put off. It led her to believe, even further, that she was not going to get out of this place unscathed. It would have to be by force...but how? There was some sort of strange electrical barrier keeping her from traversing through the electronic network strewn throughout this strange place. Like a fire wall. That was her biggest weakness. It limited her greatly, even now that she had been confined. For what reason? Why was she here?

"Oh...suck it." Vempyremon sighed under her breath in annoyance, with a small eye roll following soon after. "I'm sure you could, if you wanted to, but...for the sake of the both of us not really wanting to be here --" She crossed her arms, looking around the room and continuously trying to find some possible way out. " -- I'll humor you. That alright?"
Boots (played anonymously)

The doors swung open as a girl (who looked far too young to be a guard) entered the room. She gave the desk-jockey in front of the secondary doors a nonchalant wave as she signed in. "Where's your uniform?" He asked the same question as Gondor. Though the girl simply shot a glance up to him with a grin. Had it been on someone who looked fully grown, they might have wetted themselves. She shook her head and finished signing in. "I don't think you want to try me on something petty." She answered in response, though only after she finished signing her name. "You really need to get a crayon or two. Honestly, this paper looks dull!" The man behind the counter simply groaned in response as the psychotic girl skipped merrily on her way around the middle ground.

After skipping along the middle grounds for a while, and telling a few people off, she moved to sit down on a chair. The girl was simply relaxing at the moment. She sighed as she went over the vivid instructions over her head once more or at least the one that she hated the most: no killing. Honestly, if you were going to stow away a bunch of people in one completely destroyable building here, why WOULDN'T you kill everyone in it? She let out a small puff of air release from her lips before leaning back on the rather uncomfortable chair.

Maybe someone will try to escape. After all, who can prove they weren't running when there's nothing left of them? The nagging voice rung again: Don't. Kill. Anyone. She let out a small huff in frustration. The only reason she took this job was that she thought she would find something interesting. Though it seemed that she was mistaken.

Gondor is only thankful that the subject decided not to give him a difficult time. They can get things over with and he doesn't have to punish her. It. Whatever. The doctor goes through the list of questions before asking the first one. Leaning back into the mic, he asks, "What can you see?"
Vempyremon (played by LadyMalware)

Was this a trick question? It had to be. It was silly...ridiculous. Vempyremon could only respond the only way she knew how. "I hate to break it to you, but...uh, I see a blank-ass room." And that's all she's been able to see for the past several hours. If this magical, mysterious voice knew she was there, he must have been watching her. He must have also been able to see exactly what she saw. It was solitary confinement! "Like...Like I'm in a crazy house or something. Except no padded walls and no straight jacket."
Gondor (played by BlackRose) Topic Starter

Whomever programmed this, they must have thought it humorous to give this AI a strong vocabulary. Gondor finds almost nothing humorous. If they were going to create a powerful virus, why give her...it... an aggressive personality? It seems unnecessary. All it has to do is enter computers and corrupt them, right? Or is there more to this? Pushing another button, a secondary screen pops up for Vempyremon and a webcam is displayed for her to see the tiefling doctor not really watching her...at all. "Now what do you see?"
Boots (played anonymously)

Boots rather quickly got bored of sitting around and watching people do essentially nothing. She got up and stretched slightly, moving upstairs to where people were being experimented on. As she gave each and every subject a bored glare she noticed a gray Tiefling simply sitting and talking into a microphone. She blinked and looked at him. Why did this person have so much more security than the rest of the people she has passed by so far? She stood behind Gondor at a respectable distance, listening curiously to what Vempyremon and Gondor were saying.
Vempyremon (played by LadyMalware)

The digital creature looked elsewhere until the screen had shown up. It only forced an unimpressed glare out of her as she looked it over a few several times. Was this what was on the other side of this room? Unexciting. "I see...a boring, grumpy, short demon man who has more scowl marks than I could ever count. " She rose a hand to glance at each of her sharpened nails before a digital shimmer ran down the single limb. "I also see a pink lady behind you. Might be eavesdropping, I'm not sure."
Gondor (played by BlackRose) Topic Starter

Gondor doesn't react much to her insults and only writes down a few notes until the AI mentioned there was someone with pink hair behind him. Turning over to look, there is. "Hmm..." The doctor pays her no mind and returns to his assignment. "So you can detect color as well. Very detailed." Honestly, he's impressed - even though his tone of voice and flat expression doesn't show it. They might have programmed her...it with attitude but this is next level amazing. "Can you point out an object in the room?"
Boots (played anonymously)

Boots couldn't help but to let out a small giggle as she was pointed out. If it wasn't obvious she was listening in, that would be the giveaway. As she got ignored by Gondor she continued to listen in silently, though honestly, it was out of sheer boredom.
Vempyremon (played by LadyMalware)

That was rude. Ignoring a poor, innocent little visitor. Perhaps, they simply just wanted to stay and give Vempyremon some company. Well...visiting hours were over, and she didnt want any! Gondor was no exception. He was just there to disrupt her silent time alone. This disturbance was even more frustrating than struggle, that went down, just to get her in here. "Yeah. You, ya tool." Vempyremon pointed aggressively. "You want me to spell it out, too? I'm beginning to think these arent really questions they gave you to interrogate me with. Trying to gain something for yourself? Or...do you just like what you see?"
Gondor (played by BlackRose) Topic Starter

Gondor looks at Vempyremon for a moment, expression still nonchalant as ever, then holds up the papers to the camera. He points at the line of questions with a single claw. "Can you read that?" Yes, they certainly are the questions he's instructed to ask - not including that last one he asked. Pulling it back away, he leans back in his chair and sighs. He should've brought coffee with him. Or tea.

"Subject 01, this will be easier on both of us if you answer the questions thoroughly." He looks back down at the papers, eyeing the words that say Give digital shock therapy if difficult. She...it can't even hurt anyone. It's a computer program. A virus that harms other computers, not people. Does it even feel pain? Scrolling through the questions, he's instructed to give it shock therapy regardless of behavior. Then he has to ask if it feels anything. "..." What is she?
Vempyremon (played by LadyMalware)

Vempyremon would have loved to ease the doctor's suspicions and curiosities. All it took for him was to...come down there in the room and meet with her, physically. Things might not have been as family friendly as one would expect. Oh no. Not even close to it.

She gave a strong, threatening grin towards the screen that she spoke to Gondor through. A little canine tooth poked from underneath her lip with it. "I can read, doctor. I can read, write and spell." Moving from her spot within the middle of the room, Vempyremon purposefully inched her way towards the screen so Gondor could have a closer look into her eyes. She stared, unblinking. "What question is next? I'm curious..."
Gondor (played by BlackRose) Topic Starter

As soon as Gondor looks back up, he didn't expect to see her face right up close to the screen and nearly drops his papers. "This AI is complex, I'll give them that." Gondor says aloud since Vempyremon couldn't hear him anyway. Looking back at the instructions, the doctor breathes out. It's alright. It's all just pixels on screen.

Gondor goes to push the shock button to electrify the virus and doesn't bother - or dare - looking up to see how it effects her, as much as he is curious. The doctor speaks into the microphone and asks, "Can you describe to me how that felt?"
Vempyremon (played by LadyMalware)

Vempyremon's stare turned into a sinister glare as sparks flickered around each eye. It was as if she had tried to hack into the security system from there, for the hundredth time. To no avail. She just wanted out, and being ignored upon that request peeved her quite a bit. "...Get me out." That might have been the only thing she was able to mutter before a sharp, immense pain overwhelmed her.

"Ah...AH!" She dropped to the ground damn near instantly, as the artificial monster lost the ability to stand. The virus's body glitched and silhouette shuddered uncontrollably, unnaturally. Proving further that she was, indeed, digital-based. After the shock, Vempyremon didnt really feel in the right mind to respond to Gondor anymore.
Gondor (played by BlackRose) Topic Starter

Give shock therapy if difficult, is what the directions tell him to do. Vempyremon hasn't answered the question, so Gondor hovers his finger over the button again. Even though she's...it's only digital, this feels so wrong. The doctor's job is to keep a subject alive. What he's doing is a scientist's job, yet here he is being instructed to do this. Is this all just a test in itself? To see if Gondor will fall for the AI's "feelings" and, therefore, feel sorry for it? The shock therapy isn't even real. Pixels. It's all just pixels on this screen.

Still, the tiefling hesitates to push the button and eventually pulls away to speak into the microphone instead in a low voice as if to make sure the security cameras couldn't pick up on his voice. "If you..." Gondor then realizes that the microphone is more than likely recording all of this. So, he takes one of the papers and flips over to the blank side to write something down. As he does, he says to the virus, "If you don't answer the questions, I'll have to correct you. This is your only warning." Then he holds up the paper to the webcam with his handwriting that says, I know how to get you out.
Vempyremon (played by LadyMalware)

It was silent, even a few moments after Gondor's words rang through the...speakers? The screen? However this place was set up. Vempyremon didnt care how it worked; she just wanted to learn how to manipulate it to be able to escape. The only thought running through her head now, however... well. It was nothing, actually. She had to recover from the shock, and even that was a chore. Data reconfigured itself and settled down after the abuse was done and over with.

"D-damn..." She took a deep breath, with brows furrowed angrily. The shock treatment had caused her to fall down on both hands and knees. Briefly, Vempyremon managed to take a glance at the screen. Oh. This is how the doctor was going to play it, huh? More than likely, he would end up in a damn room, too. Punished and treated like a disobedient child shoved into a time-out corner. If that's how it was... she still said nothing. Though, she did look away after acknowledging the written words.
Gondor (played by BlackRose) Topic Starter

"Now, can you describe the pain to me?" Gondor pretends to write down notes only to hold up another message for Vempyremon. But you have to be patient. It won't be easy. What is he doing? Even Gondor is second-guessing himself. He's not only going to get himself fired, but things could end up worse for him. All for what? Something that isn't even physically real? It constantly demands to be let out, but how can a virus 'get out' of anything?

At least the doctor is buying himself time after showing the virus the other message. Maybe he can get it to cooperate with him a little so he can get this session done. It then occurs to him that the virus might be programmed to call out on the troublemakers. Is that why Gondor is assigned to this? Has he already screwed himself over?
