The year is 2021, mankind has progressed far, and they are on the verge of killing the world. Selfishness and a desire to possess all that is worldly has driven mankind to take the world and its resources for granted, deal with forces beyond their comprehension and in doing so usher an era where end was nigh.
Yet. for all of this, save for a few, they remain oblivious to the danger looming just beyond the horizon.
It is a relatively normal day over the city of New York, the sun seemed angry, glaring down at the concrete jungle. Men were indoors, blowing their air conditioning to the maximum and putting stress on the state power supply lines in doing so.
Somewhere not far away, an explosion takes place, smoke rises up from a building. Terrorist Attack? A news helicopter is quick to arrive on scene, hovering above it where a cameraman filmed from inside of it, a man sitting at the edge of his seat, one hand grabbing the bars above him for support while the other held on to a large camera supported over the shoulders.
A terrorist attack? Maybe? This was too regular an occurrence. The federal bureau of investigation reports 5 monster attacks to occur on any given day across America.
Monsters are the product of copulation between humans and creatures of myths, whose progeny often remain unchecked. Cyclops, Ogres, Orcs and Dragons among the better known, but smaller creatures such as pixies and gnomes also prove a nuisance at times The world has within them forces that are older and ancient, forces that live among mankind, for better or for worse. He sat atop his perch, the edge of his six storied apartment complex, munching away at a veg burger whilst his eyes were settled on the mobile phone screen. It showed smoke coming up from the 2nd floor of the building. There were a lot of flames. Looking up from his phone screen, he could spot the column of smoke not 2 miles from where he sat, his view slightly blocked by the taller buildings but that didn’t stop him. He could spot the slightest change in the color spectrum from miles out. Normal people would miss it, he wouldn’t.
He watched as a black van pulled in front of the burning building and soon, the fire was snuffed out, and out walked a nearly eight foot, muscular green skinned humanoid with tusks like teeth protruding out of his jaw, who had some kind of a flamethrower with him, followed by a man with dark oily skin and warts all over his body. This man had his arms behind him, and was in cuffs.
From this distance, Jacob couldn’t tell what manner of creature the black skinned one was but the green one? Definitely an Orc Enforcer, that’s what they call Orcs who were in law enforcement, a cheesy name and one for the myths- he laughed to himself.
Next to him sat a platinum case with something super important seeming inside of it. He took a small break before he completed the delivery, which was some women in an apartment just a few blocks from the location he was currently in.
The money was good, that’s why he took the job. He almost couldn’t believe the client paid him $5000 up front. Little he knew what was about to happen to him. If he had known...perhaps he would have made the delivery sooner. What he felt was sharp pain in the back and light escaped from his chest, followed by a torrent of blood and his vision going blurry.
Adrenaline pumped into his veins, giving him a fight or flight response in that moment. Pupils dilated and he underwent partial transformation, marked by elongated limbs and pumped up muscles. The wound in his chest had healed by the second his hands reached for the case, before he dropped himself off the side of the building, straight down onto the sidewalk below.
Jacob landed with a crack, his bones fragmented and twisted, but he knew he had little time to worry about that. His bones fixed themselves by the time he had stood back up and he made a run for it, not caring about the cracks in the concrete he had made on landing. He darted into the alley way, away from commoners, away from possible casualties. No he didn’t look back. He only needed to escape.
Setting:- The world that this RP takes place in is modern- with elements of science fiction and magic present in it.
Plot:- Jacob has been contracted by an unknown client to deliver an important case. Before he could make the delivery, he comes under fire from assailants looking to steal it. The goal of the RP is for Jacob to successfully make the delivery. Per chance if that does not happen, then we would need to rp out the consequences as they come.
Scenario 1: Your character is one of the assailants looking to grab the case from Jacob.
Scenario 2: Your character comes to Jacob's aid.
I'm looking for a small group, maybe two or three, a couple of antagonists and an ally. Long term RP partners preferred, must be able to write multiple paragraphs when necessary. Doesn't have to be always. M/F, doesn't matter for this RP as I'm not really looking for a romance story.

Magic is fairly common. Players and NPCs important to the tale may have it. Mistborn.
Near future, perhaps cloning and genetic manipulation
Combat is woven into the storyline and could come to the forefront if the characters seek it out.
Romance isn't outright desired, but can happen if we decide the characters are perfect for each other. The romance won't be important to the overall plot.
