A scientist's dream, to be published in the most famous journal in the world. You need to something really impressive to get there. Maybe an advance analog computer that can calculate planned economy models? Shave a 20 minutes of the Intercontinental Rail's record? Discover a brand new form of coal in the mountains?
However you do it, it won't be easy. The politics are constantly shifting, and you can easily find yourself on the wrong side of a spy's plans. Some men stand in the way of progress, and will kill you just for knowing how to read. Or worse, you might lose a valued sponsor and find yourself in square one.
But worst of all, your peers and colleges are all gunning for that prize. Science is a brutal game, but someone has to come out on top. Why not you?
This rp is about being a scientist in a steampunk/almost dieselpunk setting. It is competitive, with a clear winner being determined at the end. The key to winning is using resources, including time, better than the other players. Secrecy is a big part of the game, so you can do hidden action only you and the GM know about. Unless another player has a spy in her employ... Just get the best paper in before the other players and you can get published in the Journal and win.

On very, very, rare occasions there may be unexplained, POSSIBLY supernatural events. Minor "environmental" magic. Perhaps implies the existence of a deity or supernatural entity. Or perhaps it's just tricks?
