Your character is walking along the coastline of a beach; it's late at night, and the moon softly bathes the shoreline in its light. The waves lap at their toes, feeling cool and refreshing from the heat of a summer's day. But suddenly, the soothing sounds of the waves washing against the sand isn't all they hear. The smooth, silky, almost siren-like voice of a woman singing fills their ears, and they find themselves enraptured by the song. They move a bit closer to see who is singing, only to find that it isn't exactly a person singing. The slender figure of a merwoman sits upon a rock not far off the coast where they are, in her hands is a small harp which her fingers pluck delicately. A long, shimmering tail covered in blue scales stands in the place of legs, large wings that emerge from her back beating gently behind her. Short dark blue strands fall about her blue-skinned head, stopping just above her shoulders. She doesn't seem to notice your character's presence.

What will they do? Do they approach? Watch from a distance?
