Audemar is a wizard with dark magic, who for his life, walked the lands with cursed magic. All he wanted was to heal his mother of disease but he was cursed and conned. The item in exchange for the magic was a ring Audemar had. He found the conman who gave him the cursed magic and killed him. Though it was in cold blood, Audemar avenged his mother. The ring Audemar took back was embedded with magic and gave him immortality. He roamed the land for years looking for a purpose.
Magic is very common. Magic-tech, grand floating islands, forests that sing, magical creatures may be an every-day occurrence.
Bronze age
Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
