recently my friend explained a movie plot to me, where three characters all connected to one girl who gets murdered are brought in for questioning by unfair investigators who already assume they're guilty and lying, and in a spur of panic all three end up running away with the intent to hide out and lay low until the police catch the real criminal. I haven't watched the movie, so I don't know what happens from there, but is this what you're looking for? We could have them travel far from home and meet new people, explore new areas, that sort of thing!
