Since the bake sale flash sales started, I've been getting a steady stream of questions about phoenixes. So let's talk about it!

What are all the phoenix colors and how do I get them?

Phoenixes mostly start life as yellow fire birds, but if you feed them a cinnamon stick, they'll build a pyre and re-emerge from the spiced flames with a new set of plumage.

There are five total colors of phoenix: yellow, red, purple, blue and rainbow.

Any phoenix color can become any other phoenix color, including going back to their original yellow feathers on a second round of cinnamon.

There's no weighting. Any color of phoenix is as likely to emerge from the cinnamon pyre as any other.

Toward the end of the bake sale, popular demand caused the option to be added to purchase the Rainbow Phoenix directly, though it comes at a higher price point than simply purchasing a regular phoenix, feeding it a cinnamon stick, and getting lucky. This was for people who didn't want to leave anything to chance. And mirroring that setup, you'll notice that a tiny number of rainbow phoenixes are included alongside the regular starting phoenix during bake sale phoenix flash sales.

But in fact, to be clear, you don't necessarily need to spend the extra cash in the shop to get your hands on a Rainbow Phoenix. It's entirely possible for any phoenix to turn into any other color of phoenix when they get their talons on some cinnamon. That means that with some luck, you could get a rainbow phoenix for the price of a regular phoenix and some cinnamon sticks, potentially cheaper than buying a rainbow phoenix directly.

Are phoenixes always for sale in the afternoon?

What two flash sales happen each day is entirely randomized. We've just had a lot of good phoenixy luck with these first two days of sales.

How long will the bake sale flash sales continue?

They'll continue until the end of the fundraiser. I'm only adding things, not taking them away.

Are bake sale items going to continue to rotate, or will items only show up once?

Never fear, the flash sales will keep on rotating. You won't get only one chance at any given bake sale item, phoenix or otherwise!

When do the bake sale flash sales change?

Every 12 hours, at noon PST and midnight PST, new bake sale stock is rotated in to the lemonade stand. Not sure what time that is in your time zone? Try this handy dandy time zone converter.
