I hope I'm posting in the right section...
Anyway, the word 'nonfiction' seems to have never even been introduced into this site, as far as the search button can tell me. While I'm usually with one foot in other realities, there are not too little things that I like about our world too and, me being flexible and always trying to find uncharted paths to explore, I thought of this type of RP. This might just be considered another form of regular 'ole fiction, but would take the form of RP'ing in the characters of real, existing charcters or historical figures in scenarios like (and I'm just shooting random but different examples here) RP'ing what we think (or somewhat caricaturize) the Treaty of Versailles, or Kim Jong Un having an affair with the Queen of England, or what a conversation between Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein would have been like had they known each other...
Well just throwing this idea out there. If anyone thinks they wanna do a nonfiction RP, PM me or something. No need to make a character for this genre, they all exist

I think this type of RP is more commonly called 'Historical Fiction'. Nonfiction would be things that really happened the they really happened.
Books set in the past that were written in the present or about a time prior to when the writer lived also counts as historical fiction if the events written about are fictional or the people in the story are made up and not real people that lived at that time.
Another example is taking historical people and making up stories about them. Some of the more popular books of this type center around past royalty who are all long dead and whom most people won't object to made up stories being written about them.
